Off Leash K9 - Raleigh Durham

Before our vet recommended OLK9, I want to share what a walk with our 10-month-old rescue pup was like. At 80 pounds he barked and lunged at everything — people, dogs, birds, bikes — nothing failed to trigger him. Treats and toys didn’t help, and on more than one occasion he nearly pulled me to the ground. Fast forward to now, and the progress our dog has made is unbelievable. We just finished our turnover session and he WALKED THROUGH LOWE’S. You know, the hardware store with all the animatronics and endless distractions. He didn’t lunge, bark or pull me. He walked in a heel with a few minor corrections and showed us just how hard he’s worked over the past 2 weeks. I was in complete dismay but so so proud of him. I’ll admit, I was extremely skeptical about board and train programs. I had heard plenty of horror stories, and it took a lot for me to feel comfortable trusting someone else with our dog. But after long, reassuring conversations with Denise and Diana, I started to feel hopeful. That hope turned into trust after Denise sent us our first video. In it, she’s out in the yard building rapport with him through play and you hear her excitedly say, “that’s a good mans!.” It was then that I realized she truly cared for our dog as much as we do. From then on, each video — whether it was a playful moment or a more formal training progression— showed the patience, care, and skill Denise brought to every situation. What impressed me most was how adaptable Denise was. When our dog didn’t respond well to one tool, she switched to another that better suited him instead of forcing one approach. She adjusted to his needs and explained everything we were seeing in her updates. We know training is an ongoing journey, but thanks to OLK9 and Denise, we finally have a solid foundation. Most importantly, we feel confident moving forward with our pup — something I couldn’t have imagined before this program. I can’t recommend OLK9, Denise, and Diana enough. They didn’t just train our dog — they gave us hope, tools, and confidence for the future.

I can’t thank Denise at Off Leash K9 Training enough for her patience, expertise and sharing with me and my 7-month Rosy. As a first time pet mom, I came with almost no experience and of course I had lots of frustrations when My Rosy did not behave the way I imagined or expected. With only 4 basic obedient lessons with Denise, lots of issues had been resolved. Today, I brought my Rosy to do shopping for the first time and she behaved well and now I could loose leash walk her in areas with distractions. She is still a puppy hence gets excited at times but that is acceptable and I believe that when I keep practicing all the tips that Denise told me, we will be fine eventually. I realize that I benefit the most from her trainings more than my Rosy :) I strongly recommend Denise and her trainings to any dog parents out there. You will be happy as well as your dogs, just like me. Thanks again Denise! I would recommend Denise 10,000 times over. I spent A LONG TIME reading google reviews of other places, and ultimately decided to pursue Off Leash/Denise because she had the most/best Google reviews. Turns out, everyone was right! I was SO NERVOUS to leave my baby with someone, but Denise took the time to meet him ahead of time and answer the million questions I had. It was clear in the daily video update that he was being cared for and loved Denise back! The dog I sent to her is not the dog I got back (in a good way). He has learned so much in just the week....the rest is up to us humans. :)

OLK9 is the way to go if your dog needs any training. Maggie, our trainer really did an incredible job training our 55 lbs rambunctious doodle, Hazel. Hazel is one years old and is notorious for jumping on people with excitement, pulling hard on a leash to the point that we could never take her on walks, and she did not like her crate one bit. I could not believe how quickly she caught on to all of Maggie’s training within a day or two she was heeling and learning “place”! We loved getting our daily updates with her training tips and tools along with a video of the day’s training and she even sent videos of her having fun playing which was comforting. I loved that Maggie exposed her to real life situations like eating out and going into stores like Lowe’s and Bass Pro and walking and trails knowing she was not neglected and was given all the attention while away from us put us at ease. We will be using Maggie for any of our boarding needs in the future as well or if she needs any “refresher” lessons. Worth every penny. You won’t regret it.

I couldn’t recommend Offleash K9 and trainer Maggie enough! Our very energetic 5 year old Australian Shepard/poodle mix pup, Leonard, struggled immensely when we brought home our newborn, and despite everyone that knows Leonard being skeptical that training him was possible, he has come back from the two week board and train happier and more regulated. My extended family has literally described it as “miraculous”. We’ve had people visiting the baby daily and Leonard hasn’t jumped on anyone, stays in his place when he’s needing some calm time, heels with the stroller on walks, and most importantly is so gentle and calm around the baby. He left for training a very silly, loving, and anxious/rambunctious guy, and has come back happier, even more loving, and more confident and comfortable in his surroundings. Maggie took such good care of our boy, and the daily videos made clear how much he loved and trusted her. Today a friend that was visiting that had never met Leonard described him as “chill”, which is a word that’s never been used in a sentence with his name before. Such a priceless experience for Leonard and for our family. Eternally grateful for Maggie!
