Off Leash K9 of Northern Virginia

We took Luna, our 20-month-old Portuguese Water Dog for the 2-week dog boarding/training program with Dean at Off Leash K9 of Northern Virginia. We cannot be happier with the results. We live in the District and wanted to take advantage of all the open spaces that are available to us without worrying about Luna running into the street. Walking was not always easy as she would pull a lot, and when folks came to our house Luna would jump up and mug them. She was basically an unruly child. Long story short, Luna is now able to run when we go to the Capitol, chase a squirrel, or play with other dogs, yet return when summoned. Her quality of life has greatly improved with the additional freedom, and we can relax and better enjoy our time with her. With all of the distractions she is able to walk with us easily on a leash, and about 50% of the time we allow her to walk leash free with us. And her training to go ‘place’ when folks come to the house has made our place a whole lot easier to visit. Off Leash isn’t cheap, but it is a great value. Having Luna obey our commands and just hang out with us is just great. Dean could not have been more understanding of our angst leaving our pup with him, he updated us daily, and was more than patient when we shared our various (somewhat irrational) concerns before dropping off Luna. He’s a great dog trainer and person. We highly recommend Dean and Off Leash K-9.

I cannot recommend Lily enough! She took our dog, Frida, for a two-week board-and-train program, and Frida has come back a completely changed dog in the absolute best way possible. From start to finish, Lily made us feel completely at ease. She went above and beyond by sending us daily updates on Frida’s activities, along with beautifully edited videos and photos so we could see her progress in real-time. It was incredibly reassuring to see how much love, time, and care Lily was pouring into her every single day. We are beyond thrilled with Frida's behavior since getting her back. The results speak for themselves, but it’s Lily’s genuine dedication and care that truly set her apart. Thank you for the work you did with Atlas over the past two weeks! The difference in his behavior is honestly incredible—he genuinely feels like a different dog. Not only did you help correct a lot of the issues we were struggling with, but you also gave me the tools and understanding I need to keep reinforcing everything moving forward.
