Norton Dog Training

We cannot say enough about Amazing Norton Dog Training and the incredible impact they’ve had on our family! They trained our dog, Atlas, not only in the basic commands (sit, stay, down, place, etc.) but also in specialized skills to support our Autistic twin daughters. Atlas has been trained to provide pressure therapy on command, but what’s even more amazing is how he has instinctively offered comfort to the girls in moments of struggle—sometimes even before we could reach them ourselves. He has also been trained so our daughters can be safely tethered to him. If they attempt to elope, Atlas will immediately lay down, keeping them safe. This training has been absolutely life changing for our family. Atlas truly lives up to his name—helping our girls carry the weight of the world and giving them the confidence to experience it. We owe it all to Norton Dog Training and are forever grateful for the gift they’ve given us.

About 9 years ago I was a new doodle owner looking for help, guidance and obedience training for my new puppy. Brad Norton was mentioned to me as the “doodle dude.” We met at the park and Brad gave me some pointers and then proceeded to show me his amazingly trained pup who he could leave in the middle of the park in a “stay” and walk away. I couldn’t believe how well behaved his pup was. I asked Brad, if he were to train my pup, that he make sure not to try that “trick” as I just knew she would run away. Brad looked and me and smiled. He said “if I were to let a dog run away, that wouldn’t be good for my business.” Shortly after, I enrolled my precious doodle into his three week board and train program. My husband and I left town and just prayed that our pup would be well behaved and learn some “tricks.” When we returned to pick up our pup, we were amazed. Not only had our doodle been taught many different phrases, she now listened to commands. What was a “treat trained” doodle was now an obedient dog. Brad even trained my husband and I on handling, behavior modification and off leash commands. Our Doodle had the “sit, stay” command effortlessly and I was educated that these phrases aren’t “tricks” but instead commands for a well behaved dog. Our precious pup was the most enjoyable dog we’ve ever had. And just for good measure, we met Brad at the park and put our pup in the “sit, stay” and walked away. We were amazed. Unfortunately we lost our pup to cancer before her 8th birthday (where Jamie Norton continued to check on us and listen to many tears during a three year cancer battle). I cant explain the love and concern Jaime showed me during a very difficult time in our life. To end my review, I am so excited to report that we will welcome two new doodles in our home this month. We know this spring our pups will be in the Norton board and train program were I have all the confidence in the world that Brad will train the pups on their commands and they will learn to “sit, stay” and not run away.

We loved Nortons dog training! Our dog was previously trained with another trainer that promised all these goals I wanted accomplished. I was very disappointed with them. He was home and just getting worse. Our friends referred us to Nortons and from the first meeting we loved it there. Everyone is very personable and realistic with the goals you want to achieve. When we picked our pup up he was a whole new pet in a good way! Still had his fun personality but would lock down and pay attention to me when asked. I am so thankful for you guys and helping us be better together!! Being able to just walk on a leash outside our house and even better no leash at all!! He stays right with me and doesn’t even his react to other dogs and people anymore!
