We had a wonderful experience working with Virginia at North Star Canines. It is immediately apparent that she is incredibly knowledgeable and well-versed in dog behavior. What we especially appreciated was how thorough she was in explaining not only what we should be doing, but also the “why” behind it. Understanding the reasoning behind her recommendations made it much easier for us to apply what we learned and feel confident continuing to work with our puppy at home.
Virginia is patient, informative, and clearly has a great understanding of dogs and their behaviors. We learned so much from our time with her and really appreciated her thoughtful and practical approach to training.
We would highly recommend Virginia and North Star Canines to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and thorough dog trainer!

I couldn’t have been more impressed with Virginia. We thought we had an untrainable dog. What she showed us is that our dog was ready and willing to learn. What’s more impressive is she took the time to figure out what we needed, then translate it into training. She meet us where we were, every time, and continued to show us patience. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I really lucked out that she just happened to return to Virginia and was able to work with Cricket and I. As it is training for us both!! I will definitely use her more after I catch up on working with Cricket on all Virginia has taught us. Thank you!

Virginia takes care of my dogs as if they were her own. She is extremely knowledgeable about training and dog behavior which makes her the perfect caretaker for our precious family pets. I love that my dogs get so excited as soon as they see Virginia and her nice dogs.
