We adopted Boudica the Newfie from a rescue group here in New England. She was on a laundry list of behavior meds. We weened her off most but wanted to get to zero. Plus, there were several reactive behaviors that needed to stop (like nipping a tradesman as he was leaving the house, despite being pals just before). A friend referred us to Nikki who has been a God-send for teaching us how to train Boudie. We can now visit dog-friendly stores (like TSC) w/o worries. Her "sit", "stay" and recall are so much better. We heartily recommend Nikki.

*** From Feral Fear to Joyful Freedom: Olive’s Journey with Nikki’s Kinetic K9 Training *** When we first met Nikki, I told her she was up against the biggest challenge of her career. My husband and I are full-time RV travelers and had just lost our beloved Bassador, Otis. Three days after his passing, the emptiness was unbearable — and that’s when we found Olive, a small white lab mix cowering in a corner at a nearby shelter (MSPCA). Olive had survived unthinkable neglect — born to breeding dogs abandoned and tied outside, living her first six months feral and terrified of people. The shelter was her first experience with walls and human contact. No vet could even treat her ear infections because she wouldn’t allow anyone near. Despite all this, we brought her home. The fear was extreme — she’d urinate or defecate at the mere sound of a human voice. My husband couldn’t even enter our RV without triggering panic. We replaced carpets, we whispered instead of speaking, and when she finally became house-trained, it felt like a miracle. We assumed that was the best we could hope for — until Nikki entered the picture. When Nikki first talked about leash walking and recall training, I remember smiling politely and saying, “That’s never going to happen.” She simply smiled back and said, “We’ll see.” Within a month, Olive was walking calmly on a leash, accepting Nikki as a trusted person in her life, and responding to simple commands — sit, down, stay. Then came recall training — and to my astonishment, within two sessions, Olive responded to “here.” What makes Nikki’s approach so remarkable is that her training doesn’t just teach obedience — it rewires a dog’s emotional response to fear itself. Through patience, structure, and calm leadership, she replaces panic with trust and curiosity. Under Nikki’s guidance, Olive began facing her deepest fears and discovering confidence she never knew she had. Olive learned to meet strangers calmly and no longer trembled at the sound of children. Nikki taught us how to give Olive just enough freedom to make her own choices — something that completely transformed her confidence. Today, Olive plays off-leash, runs joyfully across the grassy hills of Amesbury, and greets familiar faces with a wagging tail. She even licked the hand of a man who’d walked past our RV for weeks — a small gesture, but one that felt monumental. Last weekend, our twin granddaughters snuggled in for a movie, and Olive climbed up beside them. Watching her relax and trust so completely brought tears to our eyes. Each small victory feels like a gift, and we celebrate them as if it were Christmas morning. Every day, we thank God for bringing Nikki into our lives. Because of Nikki’s training, Olive — once terrified and broken — is now a confident, joyful, and deeply loved member of our family. My heart is full. We love you Nikki!!!

We love Nikki! She completely saved me and my reactive dog! My dog and I were practically stuck in the house. At around 3-4 years old my dog had a complete behavior shift and began getting reactive/aggressive toward other dogs. I had to plan his walks around when there’d be nobody outside walking him at night and in the early hours of the morning so that we wouldn’t run into other dogs. I was terrified to move him to my new apartment with 3 dogs living in the unit downstairs. Thankfully that’s when I found Nicole! I called and she talked to me for almost a hour calming my nerves and was able to fit me in the next week when no one else wanted to work with us!! She went slow and at my pace with what I was ready for and I cannot believe how quickly my dogs behavior turned around!!! Nikki and her program is fabulous and we are grateful to the dedication she gave to us and our rescue pup, Nora. We have had many dogs over the years and Nikki is like no other trainer. She is committed to seeing you succeed, takes the time to get to know you and your dog and tailors the sessions. She is flexible and fluid, and even spent some of our sessions addressing new behavioral issues that were not part of the original goals discussed. Nikki doesn’t just check off boxes; her approach is holistic. We appreciated the many 1:1 sessions and day trainings because it meant we did not have to rush through skills before Nora was ready. This enabled us to do our “homework” with Nora in-between sessions, which was key for our success during the sessions. Nikki focused on the relationship between us and our dog and this did wonders for Nora because of her history of having been abandoned in the streets. We credit Nora’s learned ability to more neutral, less reactive, and more confident to our focused time with Nikki. And the best thing is that because Nikki focuses on training the parents/owners and spends time explaining the rationale behind her methods, we now have some solid foundational skills as dogowners to keep working with Nora on our own for new skills and to keep strengthening what she knows. We have a wonderful trust relationship with our dog who has learned excellent recall off leash, and understands our communication style to follow all essential commands even in a busy public area with distractions. We are forever grateful to Nikki. And we love Koda and Arrow, too! They are terrific dogs that helped Nora gain confidence and reduce reactivity to other dogs. Thank you, Nikki!
