Place was easy to find and had parking. Inside was clean and had an available restroom. Staff was super friendly as we're the owners Andy and Natasha. Andy spent all kinds of time explaining how the next month would go for my two dogs. It helped to put me more at ease about leaving them. Both Natasha and Andy were great with pre drop-off communication about what was required. Videos are posted regularly to show progress which is awesome. I sent my 3 year old Shih-tzu Izumi to Adam and his team after being banned from his local groomer, and a pretty bad bite on my face, I was at a loss. He has little graduation papers from a few different trainers, but nothing was sticking and he still kept his aggressive behaviors (lunging, nipping, resource guarding). At this point I was giving all my guests a preamble because I truly didn’t know how he would react, ie: (don’t touch his head, don’t walk in front of him, don’t go near his food bowl, don’t make this noise, don’t sit on this side of the couch) it was exhausting. Adam was so informative about the entire program and structure throughout the initial consultation, it really put mine and my partner’s mind at ease knowing Izumi would be there for quite a few weeks. His explanations were super easy to understand, and even during the drop off, he was gentle, but firm with Izumi. NDK9 posted a ton of updates to their instagram over the course of his training, and even from a few days in, he already looked like a different dog. (Much more attentive, quick to respond, not as jumpy, and above all his tail was wagging the whole time.) Post-training, Adam gave me a crash-course on his new commands and how to keep up training. He was very descriptive and stressed the importance of keeping him on a schedule and continued training. Overall, Izumi seems much more confident in himself, while also allowing me to handle things that he doesn’t understand. He seems much more trusting of me, in general. Some behaviors he’s developed from the program: - much better manners, still a little excited to see other dogs, but not nearly as jumpy or aggressive. Working on it every day. - I’ve been giving him grooming trims, a little every day, he used to become immediately aggressive at the sign of scissors, a brush or trimmer. - he sleeps in his crate (willingly) every night, even comes to remind me if I’m up later than usual. - walks have been a breeze, we still try to steer clear of trash, just in case. But overall he is much more confident. - he’s much more playful, he wants to play rather than hoard his toys We’re about 3 weeks out from his training and he’s been very good at retention to many of the commands, with just a few 5-10min training breaks throughout the day. If you’re on the fence about taking a serious approach to behavior with your dog, consider what your time and sanity costs, and how well you can communicate with your dog. If the program could be summed up into a few words, it has basically given me a direct line of communication to him. We now have a way to tell him “no” that he fully understands, which makes curbing his unwanted behaviors far easier. I cannot recommend this team enough, after spending hundreds dollars on different types of classes, at home, in facility trainings, this boarding option was the only one that could really get to the root of the issues.

We had an incredible experience with Next Door K9 and can’t recommend them highly enough. We enrolled our 7-month-old black lab, Gus, in their three-week training program to focus on leash walking, off-leash recall, and overall obedience—and the results exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, the process was seamless. Communication with Adam was outstanding; he kept us informed, answered every question, and made sure we felt confident every step of the way. What stood out most wasn’t just Gus’s transformation, but ours as well. We now feel so much more equipped to communicate clearly with him, implement meaningful corrections, and reinforce the behaviors we want to see. There has been a noticeable difference in our home as well. With a busy household, things can get chaotic, but Gus is now calmer, more responsive, and easier to manage. The overall stress level in our day-to-day life has noticeably decreased, which is something we didn’t even realize was possible before this training. If you’re considering professional training, this is absolutely worth it. It’s not just training your dog—it’s giving your whole family a better, more peaceful dynamic.
