New Sentry K9 Services

If I could give 10 or 100 stars, I would. New Sentry K9 is THE place to go to train your dog. Even more importantly, the New Sentry Team trains the human holding the leash. By building confidence in both dog & owner, both thrive. I have 2 pittie mixes, who, after their well-balanced canine companion passed away, were lost and needing direction. I sought out New Sentry K9 - and they kicked my butt into shape. The result? 2 very well behaved pups who get compliments wherever they go. I get asked if they are Therapy Dogs on a regular basis. It's 100% due to New Sentry K9 Trainers kicking *my* butt to be a leader. Recently both dogs were attacked in 2 instances - each by dogs whose 'owners' either let the dog loose or didn't bother holding the dog's leash. (!!) Note: Neither dog that attacked mine were pitbulls, but I digress. My male developed severe anxiety as a result. Where we could go on hikes and long walks before, he'd cower and shake. My efforts to rebuild confidence (in myself and my dog) helped some, but I knew I needed help from a Professional. Today, I took him back for a refresher session. WOW. Just WOW. John gave me some great pointers on when to push, when to stop and how to help my pup be happy again. Leo was strutting and so proud of himself at the end of the session. This was exactly what we needed. I'm going to take my female in for a refresher on confidence next week. These trainers are firm and balanced. I've seen some reviews that read 'oh, they are too tough'. Wrong. It's about balance: discipline and praise. When I first met John and the other trainers, I was skeptical - BUT - I didn't have their experience and I knew I needed help in order to have balanced dogs. This is the place to go to!

My girl learned a lot here but a lot of the people that attended the same class as I did not pass the final test. Maybe 5 out of 12 dogs graduated. Not sure if its owners fault or trainer. I know a lot of owners thought the training tactics were a bit harsh. My girl was one of the dogs that graduated so for me I could say it worked. Not sure about the 7 other dogs though. Overall, it's definitely worth the money.
