New England K-9 School for Dogs

After additional sessions we decided to terminate our training with Sol (3 lessons in total). We found his techniques to be inconsistent with our philosophies. His technique is based on being extremely harsh with your dog, bordering on cruel to make the dog fear you and the punishment/abuse used to train him to be totally subservient. We want our dog to be obedient, but to maintain his spirit and personality. We don't believe this type of train will achieve that. We don't doubt that it will make your dog obedient, so if you're ok with this approach, this may be the place to go. Our dog left sessions scared and didn't want to get out of the car when we returned. We have since gone to a different trainer with what we consider a more humane training approach, more to our liking, with amazing results. We lost money on this one, since Sol insists on up front cash payment for a series of 5 lessons after the first lesson if you want to continue, which he does explain very clearly up front. He also pushes you to buy his products constantly, at costs much higher than you can get them elsewhere.

First off the good reviews earn you a "free" session, one of reasons I went with this guy was due to the "good" reviews, boy was I completely wrong.. He's a cash establishment with no refunds. Spend your training money somewhere else. This man is abusive, belligerent and vile. He takes your money and screams obscenities at you. He literally lifted my puppy off the ground, all 4 feet, choking her with a choke chain collar, demanding, that is how you train a dog. Collars and leashes can be bought on gun dog supply for a fraction of the cost he tries to take from you. They're legit products, I did the research and have an email from Herm Sprenger as proof. He'll charge you $50 for a $10-$20 choke chain collar and $75 for a $25 leather leash. I'm completely disgusted. Buyer beware. He's not worth it.
