New England K-9 School for Dogs

I have only had one lesson and left feeling good that my dog was picking up what we were learning the first day but overwhelmed. I kept holding the leash wrong and felt like at times I was getting scolded. I am looking forward to our next lesson and to see where my dog and I can go. Ended up leaving here and being out the money just wasn't happy with how he trained dogs. Maybe for police k9. Just not Happy and felt intimidated and pressured

Where do I begin... well, my wife informed me of this dog trainer after having consulted him herself to get a feel for the type of person he was. She asked me to call him myself so I could draw my own conclusion and so I obliged. At the beginning of the call, he immediately went on a tangent on how he's been dog training for some 40+ years. He was slightly rude and barely discussed his methods and continued to talk and seemed more interested in collecting the 540 dollars up front than actually efficiently training our puppy. I voiced my concerns to my wife, and she felt the same way about him, but we decided to give him a chance because his record seemed extensive, and he had an abundance of good reviews. Fast forward to today and as we arrived and pulled up to his garage he was immediately demanding and rushed me and my wife, we ignored his ignorance and I approached him to read and sign the paperwork that he immediately produced before we even introduced ourselves. As my wife retrieved our puppy and began to approach the trainer he immediately barked at my wife to keep out dog back and to not allow her to smell or jump on him with an incredibly demanding and offensive tone, it was at that moment that we immediately thanked him for his time and decided that he wasn't a fit for our lovely puppy. If he was that rude in the beginning, i could only imagine the type of verbal abuse we would be subjected to during future classes. THE ONLY REASON HE HAS AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF 5 STAR REVIEWS IS BECAUSE HE WILL GIVE YOU A FREE LESSON IN EXCHANGE FOR A GOOD REVIEW! HE IS NOT A QUALITY TRAINER, AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THIS GUY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AT A QUALITY FACILITY THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE RESPECT AND DIGNITY YOU AND YOUR PUPPY DESERVES! Edit for response to owners' claim: we were actually on time contrary to what his claims were. My puppy was excited to see you and ran up to you, and you immediately scolded us for that and demanded us to take our dog away from you. She was not even a year old at the time! She is a friendly golden retriever and would never harm a fly. Since we have decided to take training into our own hands, she has become a wonderful obedient dog, something you couldn’t achieve with your harsh style of training. The fact of the matter is that you bribe your customers for positive reviews, and you traumatize pets into obedience. You should be ashamed of yourself and how you operate your business and treat people. Oh, and we have since gotten another dog and trained her as well with the same results! Thank you for showing us that we don't need horrible people like you to train our lovely dogs!

The whole experience left us traumatized. At first everything seems fine. He was pleasant. It was my son and I at the visit with our new puppy. When we left my teen son was in tears in the car with my puppy. He never touched the dog( red flag, i saw another trainer and was explained that if they don't touch or hold the dog how can they form a relationship of respect with each other), he made my son basically force, drag and induce fear on my puppy, fear does not equal to training and obedience. My puppy was traumatized for weeks, tail in between the leg when going outside, fear of the collar or the leash. I learned a lot from a different trainer who showed me the difference. Dogs behave well on respect, and learning respect comes from relationships. Walking outside with my dog outside the leash was an easy train. I call and he comes. This was done with love, respect and care. Extremely different from the experience at NE K9. Do your research before engaging. Do not put your dogs through abuse.
