Kristi is a fantastic trainer. She is great at explaining everything she has done while working alone with our dog for an hour so we could easily implement it at home. Excellent at pointing out problem ares and how to correct them. She is very flexible with her schedule as well. I would highly recommend her, our Luna is a herding/pit mix with very high energy, she is such a good girl, great to walk with and listens very well now. Money well spent with Kristi, I would absolutely use her again if we were to get another dog.

I recommend this private dog trainer. She knows her stuff! She has a combination of negative and positive reinforcement, which she calls balanced training? She does use a prong collar, which I felt a little uncomfortable with at first, but after learning the proper use, I agreed to give it a try, and it has proved to be very very valuable for learning to teach two dogs in a heel position for a walk around our neighborhood. She charges $150 for a private lesson. She takes a dog for the first hour to teach him things, and then I come back and learn what he has been taught for half an hour. If you can afford these classes, I believe you will greatly benefit from the instruction that she gives to you in a half hour in order to reinforce what the dog has already learned. She has an assistant named Val, who is also very knowledgeable in dog training. She gives you a sheet of instructions that includes the commands that she is teaching to the dog.. I think she wants you to sign up for three classes which are $150 each but then she's also available for extended classes which I am going to do because I have two dogs, and I want to be able to walk both dogs loose leash around our block so I'm asking for an additional lesson to learn how to do that. Kristie also does in-house private training where she will keep your dog for a week and do one-on-one attention the whole time,for $1000.00. I am confident that she will do an amazing makeover of your dog. I have a border collie, puppy which is a very active work-oriented dog, and she was able to calm him down to the point where he fell asleep on a bed in the middle of the session. I wish there was a way to give Kristi and Val way more stars than 5. We rescued a 6 mon. old female corgi puppy (Pita) while having a 7 yr old female corgi (Panini) in the home already. We figured we would give it a shot with the two of them because how can you turn down a free corgi puppy who was neglected and didn't know their own name (Freya) and ran in fear when when any person approached. Panini in the past showed some aggression towards other dogs, and we were weary, but had a home setup for Pita just in case it didn't work out and we did NOT want to further traumatize this dog. We bring Pita home and Panini is NOT thrilled, but after about a week they were playing together! Holy crap! We got 2 females together and they LOVE each other, we hit the jackpot. (This is not recommended, Females are very territorial and can be very aggressive towards one another. Spoiler alert) Fast forward about 2 months and Pita gets fixed and comes home to recover. She immediately turns on Panini, every single time Panini is in her sight, she is out for blood. How can this be, Panini is the jerk here?!? How can this 15 pound puppy be this vicious?! It started causing a lot of stress between myself and my partner and fights between the dogs increased in number and aggression. We brought this to our therapist and this is where Kristi comes in. Our therapist recommended giving Kristi a shot before rehoming her AGAIN and causing more trauma to the dog, maybe she just needs some guideance? We booked 3 sessions right away and the main focus was Pita. We brought her in for her first session, and by the time that hour was over, we had a very clear game plan on what needed to be done and I was confident that this was going to work. Kristi provided us with a sheet on the commands she uses with the dogs and then shows you how to interact with the dog while using the command. A prong collar was used with Pita which I was a bit weary about, but now I swear by. I have only ever used them when owning a German Shepard and a Rottweiler, and for some reason never thought to use it on a smaller dog. (They are dogs too guys!! We also have one for Panini as well, she thinks it is the devil) Third session rolls around and now it's time to include Panini. They have been apart for about 2-3 months now and its really the first time they have been in a room together for longer than feeding. (They can eat right next to each other fine, but sit on the couch and chill, TIME FOR ACTS OF WAR MOTHER! ...?!?) I was nervous the entire time they were there and I was certain that I would get a call - "You need to come get these girls, there is no hope." Yet, the hour came and went and when we came to pick them up, they were both laying very nicely 6ft apart (Insert vine joke here) being as calm as can be. I was shookith my dudes, I could not believe it. Since then it has been about 3-4 weeks since our last session and they are doing much better. We are able to have them in the same room, and they have even played a bit! There has been some small instances, but Panini needs some work to calm down and not react right away to NOTHING. The place command has been instrumental to the training and accommodation of these two. I highly recommend if you use Kristi, use this command, and work on it. We are still working on it to this day, and it takes a long time, but it has done wonders for both dogs. I cannot recommend Kristi and her partner Val enough. They have made one of the most stressful transition periods of our lives so much easier and manageable with the training. She is very kind, firm and encouraging for the dogs which is exactly what you want in a trainer. Please consider Kristi and New beginnings for your training needs. New beginnings is exactly what it is. TLDR: My dog was a terrorist and Kristi helped me remove her from the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted. Highly recommended dog trainer that works on very difficult cases with grace.
