We highly recommend Jim as a dog trainer! He helped Winston tremendously with obedience and confidence, but just as importantly, he taught us how to work with Winston effectively. We realized we had been doing a lot of things wrong without even knowing it. Jim was patient, knowledgeable, and great at explaining what we needed to do differently. Winston has made such a positive change, and we feel much more confident working with him now. We’re so grateful for Jim’s help and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a great dog trainer!

We recently sent our pups for a 4 week long vacation here and let me tell you. BEST decision we have ever made. Money was well worth it and spent. Our oldest 3 now 4 year old beagle dis great and I can now recall, she is more intune when i say something to her, the walks are a THOUSAND times better. My 5 year old can walk her. We also have a 1 year old hound/ wired hair pointer. We knew going into this with her it was more so working on the main issues, not jumping, not tormenting her sister, walking, recall. Shes a hyper dog so theres only so much you can do. I was shocked. She has her moments when getting excited and wanting to jump but shes more mindful and listens and will go lay down when told, walks are now a dream, and shes a great running partner for my 12 year old. She has better manners when with her sister and her sister actually learned to stick up for herself more! When we picked up our pups, we did not leave (there for 2 hours) until we went over everything we needed to know and be successful at home. We are so happy With our experience and the knowledge we walked away with. Also if you don't think you may be the problem you are most likely the problem, i learned that very quickly and it wasn’t a terrible thing but I learned to adjust how i do things myself so i can be part of the success. We also boarded our pups with him after due to a family trip. They were happy dogs and I will always take them back if i need to.

We had an incredible experience with NC K9 and cannot recommend them enough. Jim and his family were amazing with both of our pups, Ace and Roo. From my very first conversation with Jim, I knew he was the right choice for their training. He was patient, knowledgeable, and very clearly experienced in what he does. Ace, who earned the nickname “Ace Ventura” during his time there, was a total wild child going in and terrible on leash. Roo, on the other hand, had very little confidence, so they had their hands full in two completely different ways. The results have been incredible. Ace is now the most well-behaved, well-mannered dog I have ever had as part of my family, and Roo has continued to gain confidence and make huge strides. It’s been a few months since they completed their board and train, and both Ace and Roo have continued improving with their obedience, manners, and overall behavior. I am beyond happy with the results and also so grateful for everything we learned through the process. We will absolutely be using NC K9 for any future training needs. I also have to shout out their farmstead, Clover Leaf Farms. Learning about that side of their business was such a huge bonus for us. Definitely check them out for farm-fresh meat and eggs. You won’t regret it!

Taking Xenia to NCK9 was one of the best decisions I could have made! Communication throughout the month was very responsive, but I always felt very confident knowing that she was in great hands from the moment I met Jim and Cindy for our for intro meeting Xenia is a great dog, we had previous private training for some basic commands, but still needed structure that I wasn’t able to reinforce on my own. Walking on leash and pulling was an issue for sure. After a month with Jim and Geena, I have a level of confidence and trust with my dog that I didn’t have before, it’s like we are in sync now, she understands me when I speak to her and she obeys! Go figure! It’s wonderful!!! I’m so happy and I know she is so happy too because it’s made our bond so much closer. She no longer begs at the table for food nor jumps up to greet guests at the door which was one of my concerns because she is a larger dog. I couldn’t be more grateful and pleased with NCK9 for their service and knowledge! Awesome people, awesome farm. I also love the fact that I can take her there for boarding services and they will provide refresher training while she’s there also. If you are interested in this for your pup, you are reading the review of one very satisfied dog owner here that only wishes she had found out about them sooner.
