Nate Dog Training

I had a phone consultation with Nate and when I explained that I believe the situation with my dogs is slightly out of skill set, he proceeded to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. During the call, he spoke to me about how he teaches dogs to walk calmly on a leash as well as stay calm in the house and that was the basically all he specializes in. My dogs do both of these things but one of them in particular has very specific triggers and anxieties that I am needing help with. Because I told Nate that I believe we are looking for someone with more experience than what he listed, he proceeded to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about and that he can guarantee my dog doesn't know how to walk on a leash or be calm in the house (all untrue). He told me that I needed to read all of his amazing Google reviews and when I told him that I did and most of them focused on basic obedience, he proceeded to tell me I was wrong once again. He got audibly upset when I told him that I don't think we are a good fit for each other. He might be fine for basic obedience training but if you are needing someone with more expertise in actual dog behavior, I'd recommend going elsewhere. And Nate, I would suggest treating potential clients with a little more respect and maturity. UPDATE: He then proceeded to text me about my negative review. Very unprofessional. Also, out phone call was 12 minutes, not 3.

Dog: 6 year old, Husky We adopted our dog from the Humane Society, and noticed right away some behaviors. We contacted Nate to help us with preventing pulling on the leash (our dog loves rabbits & coyotes), and seperation anxiety. The seperation anxiety was so bad, our dog would escape from his kennel. Working with Nate we saw an improvement. Our dog is now comfortable with his crate, he is less anxious, and he is walking better on the leash. Thank you Nate and his sweet pups!

My Luna (4) and Cozy (3) loved working with Nate! They are rescue dogs (Chihuahua shepherd mixes) that had a lot of anxiety. The amount of improvement we have seen in their confidence and their willingness to listen to us has been amazing. We are very grateful to Nate and would highly recommend him. We had tried other trainers before. Unfortunately there are a lot of people calling themselves trainers that have really bad advice that is harmful to dogs. Which is why working with Nate was so refreshing. He is passionate about his work and cared a lot about my dogs’ well being. I know it’s a small thing but he was so sweet and was willing to sit and play with my dogs too. It really made them comfortable and excited to listen to him. I haven’t seen a trainer actually make that effort.

We contacted Nate after high recommendations from friends. We have a 1 yr old lab (Nola) that was in need of training & some puppy corrective behaviors. Nate & his 5 well-trained pups were amazing at assisting us & showing us the importance of being in control of our dog (for her safety & ours!) After our 6 sessions with Nate, we feel we have the knowledge & tools to manage Nola which has led to so much more enjoyment in our interactions. Walks, meals, play, & people/animal socializing are so much better with (& for) Nola since Nate & his pups showed us the way. We can’t thank Nate enough for giving us the skills to provide a great life for our Nola!
