My Best Buddy Dog Training

My Best Buddy Dog Training is a lifesaver for my family and our dogs! We highly recommend Robin - she's a very talented and compassionate dog trainer. We've enjoyed working with Robin in her puppy classes and in-home private dog training since 2018. Private Dog Training: We adopted a 5-pound Yorkie who loved the sound of his voice. His constant barking upset the family, so our vet recommended Robin's services. Robin helped train all of us to work with the Yorkie, restoring harmony and happiness in our home. We kept in touch over the years because Robin is passionate about her clients. When our Yorkie fell ill with lymphoma and passed away unexpectedly, Robin grieved with us. Recently, we added a Scottie puppy to our family, and we needed Robin's training advice. Robin helped us understand that Scottish Terriers are working dogs, and our 9-week Scottie constantly craved training and "a job," but we live in a suburban development, not on a farm. Robin visited our home, and in one session, she implemented a training plan where our Scottie learned several important skills plus strategies for potty training while we waited for her to be old enough to attend puppy classes. Robin was so helpful! Robin also evaluated our skittish four-year-old Labrador, who had little socialization due to her shy personality and pandemic isolation. Robin has a plan for helping our scared dog, who is reactive and frightened of everyone and everything. I'm relieved Robin is there to guide our family help our sweet Labrador feel more comfortable with her environment. Puppy Training Class: See attached pictures of Robin and our Scottie in class! When our Scottie was old enough to attend Robin's puppy class program, each week, Robin and Becky taught the puppies and families new skills. Robin's training program focuses on important behavioral skills with positive reinforcement and fun. I enjoyed them as much as the puppy! But more importantly, the skills are lifesaving techniques designed to effectively teach the dog and family how to work together. Robin's Dog Training Program Works: Recently, when visiting family out of state, someone opened the front door, and our Scottie bolted outside. It was very scary because we stayed at an unfamiliar house to the Scottie, and the property was located near a wooded state park. I was frightened I'd lose my Scottie dog forever. Immediately, I used the Emergency Recall skill game Robin taught our puppy class. Our Scottie came racing back to me, clearly remembering the puppy class recall game! It's a skill we're supposed to practice every day, and it worked! And so, we celebrated the victory with one of our Scottie dog's favorite treats! Our puppy just graduated Robin and Becky's 6 week puppy class. I highly recommenced this class. I was interested in a positive reinforcement only class and Robin was recommended by a neighbor who works with rescue dogs. The class included an hour Zoom orientation session to prepare you for the class and give lots of great advice before you start the class. Her website also has lots of helpful free advice. Each class only had 3-5 puppies so there was a lot of individual attention and time to practice the commands. Our puppy blossomed over the 6 weeks in his socialization skills and has picked up quickly on the commands. Robin is fabulous about responding to texts when I needed advice in between the classes.
