Mr. O’s Dog Training. Luca We have an ultra friendly 2 ½ year old male Golden Doodle. His one really bad habit was his tendency to jump up on humans and other dogs. We were unable to break him of this habit. We were impressed by the claims of Mr. O and decided to try the all-day training Mr. O offered. We scheduled a training date in February which was snowed-out and a follow-up date in March which was also cancelled because of weather. Notably, there was no problem in rescheduling a make-up date in June. Luca got along well with Mr. O. At the end of the training, he was completely healed of his jumping up problem. Luca has also improved markedly in his ability to walk on loose leash, and follow his “wait” and “stay” commands. Mr. O offers a no- nonsense training approach which produces results.

We also happened to pay Mr O around the time that he was hospitalized and did have to wait 6 months past our original training date. It was frustrating not to hear from him, or call disconnected numbers, but in the end, Mr O did get in touch with us and train our Neapolitan Mastiff. It was completely worth the wait. It's actually unbelievable, the transformation is night and day. Opi was dominant, manipulative and we were unable to take her to doggy daycare because of her possessive behavior towards other dogs. She also dragged us on the leash, begged for food and peed in the house. When we picked her up, she was walking perfectly on the leash, listening to commands for sitting, she now responds to our corrections in the house and outside. Opi was also very affectionate toward Mr O the evening we picked her up. It was obvious they had a nice bond. Its not magic, we can see that if we aren't following through with what Mr. O taught us at the end of the training day, she would return to her negative behaviors, so ultimately it is up to us to maintain the rehabilitation that Mr. O did. We had put Opi through several different private and group training programs and were endlessly frustrated because we did not have the skill or understanding to get her to a place where she was trained enough to listen. These trainings were also all positive, treat-based reinforcement trainings, which might work for some breeds. But for dogs who are having bigger issues or are more dominant breeds, this kind of training is pretty ineffective. Having Mr O get her to a place where she is trained and calm makes it so much easier for us to maintain the changes. We've already referred all of our friends and Opi will now be one of his celebrity dogs.

I have been a customer of Mr. Orsino for 12 years. He has trained all three of my German Shepherd dogs, which for those who know the breed, understand they are high drive, high energy dogs that require a lot of exercise and training to keep them from becoming bored and unruly. When they are not kept active and busy, they can become very destructive. I am not a dog trainer, so when I rescued my first GSD, she was too much for me to handle, until I met Joe by chance at the Pgh Home and Garden show. I told him my problems with my dog, and we made arrangements for him to train her. When I went back to pick her up, it was like I had a brand new dog. That was in 2004. His training was the reason I decided to get a second GSD, and she was a maniac of a puppy until she spent time with Mr. O. Two years ago, our old girl had to be euthanized, and we got our third GSD five months later. She has been the most difficult of all to handle thus far. Needless to say, I called Joe and made arrangements for him to train her too. That was when he had a medical emergency, and ended up in the hospital. Naturally, I was concerned about my investment, but I know this man’s business practices, and I have known him to be hard working, reliable and good with all my dogs. So I waited to hear from him. When he was well enough to call, he promised to make good on our contracted arrangement, which true to his word, he did as soon as he was physically able. When I picked her up this evening, I almost thought he traded her out for a different dog. She was calm and obedient, two things I could not teach her myself. And though he looked a little tired at the end of the day, I can say with certainty that Joe has not lost his touch. I’m so glad he recovered and is back to doing what he does best. I would not hesitate to have him train another dog of mine if I were to get another one.
