While we as the dog owners are there to learn how to train our pups, we are also trainng ourselves on how to motion properly and give treats accordingly. It doesnt come naturally as an owner and it takes practice. Especially when I've never taken dog training classes before.
Anyhow, a simple positive reminder to me as the dog owner when to use a hand gesture prior to administering a treat to the dog, among ither things etc...goes a lot further then a snappy, condescending tone.
It just wasnt a great experience!

I have taken 2 of my dogs for training, one went through their Reactive Rover class and was able to work through some of her fears and my most recent pup, Mouse the Mighty has gone through all their obedience classes from Puppy Kindergarten through their advance obedience. They are always so patient with the dogs and use positive reinforcement in a way that is easy to repeat at home and out in public. I recommend them every time someone asks for dog training.
