Mid-Michigan K9 Academy - Saginaw

I am generally not a complainer. Was a little disappointed in my dog, Beau's, progress reports. They were very lacking to say the least and each day was not even filled out. I have been to 2 other training businesses and would say that one in particular is far superior to this one and much cheaper at that. The other INVOLVES the owners and whoever they may want to bring. I had no detailed instructions on what the "terms" meant. Many training places have their own "term" for a certain command or behavior they desire. I went home not understanding what the terms meant. I think that is very IMPORTANT. I almost felt my dog was fearful of me. I may have misunderstood that. He was trembling, unsure about what that was about. I would not go back to Mid-Michigan K9 Academy. They are overpriced for what they provide and communication with owners is very poor. Just my opinion as I noted many positive reviews. Again, I am not a complainer, just disappointed.

I took my 2 year old Golden Retriever here for grooming the first time went GREAT (that’s why I gave it 2 stars) the next appt I received a text message reminder saying her appt was at 3 instead of the time I originally booked at 11am. I figured okay maybe I screwed up on the time whatever. Fast forward to today I took her for her 3rd grooming appt I walk in and was told her appt was at 11 today instead of the time THEY wrote on the sticky note saying 3pm. Keep in mind I never received a phone call to say we’ve changed the time or text reminder the day before like last appt. I was told she could stay there because they had 2 other dogs ahead of her that had to be done by 5pm so my dog would have to stay there and wait for an hour and a half. My only thing is my dog had a set appt time and I understand things come up and change but two times in a row that’s not okay. I have now canceled her future appointments for grooming here and will be looking for another groomer. She always smelled very nice and the cut was just how we asked but the communication is a whole other story.

Our German Shepherd attended Mid-Michigan K9 Academy August 13-19th. He is 8 months old and knew many commands, but needed to hardwire them all. He is still young and is a bundle of energy so it takes a minute for him to calm down, but what he learned in those few days will not only keep him safe, but also make him welcomed anywhere he goes for the rest of his life! We are continuing to work with him as we were taught to by the WONDERFUL staff. He is currently lying at my feet in “place” like a good boy does.😊 We not only HIGHLY recommend Mid-Michigan k9 Academy for training, we intend to use them for boarding when needed.
