MattyG’s Dog Training

Matt has been so incredibly helpful with my Pit mix, Charli. After moving, Charli had a hard time trusting people and having confidence in uncomfortable situations. I tried reaching out to other trainers who were either unresponsive or told me she was a lost cause. However, after setting up a consultation on his website, I spoke with Matt about what she needed to work on and he has not only helped her overcome these problems but has taught her so much more than I thought was possible. With Matt’s help, I can now have people over again, take her on walks, and show off all the new things she has learned. Matt brought me and my dog even closer together and although she still has a long way to go, she has learned so much and I can’t wait to see her continue to grow.

Matt helped us train our new puppy Teddy (Poodle and Bichon Frise mix) when he was only 3 months old. Teddy was our first puppy so we were nervous parents wanting to make sure we laid a good foundation and eased the hardship of the puppy months - Matt did just that. Matt came with such a calm demeanor, he immediately gained our trust and built our confidence as new parents to Teddy! His training sessions are easy going, he is very patient with our questions, focusing on what we need and tailoring our sessions to what is most important to us that time. We have a pretty busy schedule, Matt was accommodating and made every minute count during training sessions - they were effective and we know Teddy is off to a good start! Day #2 of our “play date” to rescue for Rosie turned into mass destruction, and we were faced with a difficult decision. Luv of Dogz sent Matt to help us with boundaries, and we were immediately filled with hope. He recommended a 3-week boarded training for Rosie, and we made the decision to send her to “summer camp.” Matt sent us videos and pictures of her progress the whole time, and we were confidant that she was not only well cared for, but happy. She learned basic commands, as well as the ever important “out” and “no.” She has been home for 3 days, and we still need to reinforce her training, but Matt is helping us through the transition. He is amazing, and we are so lucky to have found him!

Matt took on the challenge of training my stubborn Frenchie, Louie. Louie struggled with resource guarding, basic commands and socializing around other dogs. After a 3 week board and train, Louie came back a whole new dog! He plays very well with my other Frenchie now, he doesn’t guard his food/treats, and listens to his basic commands. I loved that Matt would take pictures and videos of Louie’s progress and send it to me multiple times throughout the week. He was able to give me tons of helpful tips and tricks as well as assessing Louie’s behaviors. During week 3 Matt took Louie to stores to tighten up his skills which was a great experience and makes me more comfortable bringing him to public places. You can tell he put his heart and soul into training my dog and made some good memories with him. Thank you so so much!!
