A beautiful transformation for our dog Joey. He came to Matt a very excitable dog. He had great recall, but we were at a loss as to have him be more controlled. Better behaved and be more consistent with commands. That was one part, Matt spent an extensive training period with my husband and I to follow up on Learning what Joey had learned with his Board and Train. We have more follow up sessions. We drive from Concord to San Jose to work with Matt because he is simply the best. We first took our Dogo Argentino to a board and train with another company and it completely failed. After that both he and our Cane Corso went to Matt and the difference was immediate. Our dogs are bigger and stronger than most breeds so getting proper training for them and for us was essential. We needed someone who truly understood powerful working dogs and could teach us how to handle them confidently and safely. Matt delivered exactly that. Then our newest puppy a lovable malinois fell into our laps and of course we brought her to Matt too. Now we can take all our dogs anywhere and do anything. Walks are fun outings are stress free and life with three big dogs is something we enjoy rather than worry about. If you want someone who knows dogs and delivers real results go to Matt. Worth every minute of the drive. Highly recommend.

Matt has been a lifesaver to us! My mom adopted a pittie mix, Tiger, who’s the sweetest dog at home but an anxious mess outside of the home. Tiger hates other animals and fears everything. Before Matt, Tiger knew no commands, pulled on walks, choke himself throughout his walks and barked, and tried to attack and lunged at other dogs. We felt very defeated. We contacted Matt for training and from the moment we met Matt, it was evident that he understood Tiger’s anxiousness and had all the resources to help us manage his anxiety. We did the board and train program, individual lessons, and group classes.

Matt taught us how to understand Tiger’s triggers and how to correct Tiger’s behavior. He taught his how to properly give commands and gave homework to practice with Tiger. After countless hours of practice at home and with Matt, Tiger is much more manageable. We able to go on walks where Tiger is RIGHT by our heel side. He no longer pulls which is a MASSIVE win! Tiger will even self correct himself when he feels leash tension and slows down. We trained him with an e collar and we barely have to use the shock feature these days, but it’s a great tool for when he see him get worked up.Tiger will never like random dogs he sees on his walk but we are able to walk past dogs/correct him without him going to fight or flight mode. He actually likes to play with other dogs 1 on 1 when we introduce him to another dog slowly! He’s very well behaved inside the home, listens to his commands and waits to be released before going to the backyard. Two years later, we’re so thankful for Matt. Throughout the entire process, Matt remained accessible and responsive. He genuinely cared about the well-being of our dog, and his commitment to our success was evident. His dedication to the craft of dog training goes beyond professional duty; it's a true calling, and it reflects in the positive transformations he brings to the lives of both pets and their owners.

Matt started working with Alfie in fall of 2024. We purchased a package including 7 home visits and 7 group meet ups. Alfie's around 70 lbs and full of puppy energy. I wanted to have him be well leash trained and to be able to trust him not to jump on people and to behave around hyper, spazzy kids. I got everything I wanted. Matt is phenomenal with dogs, but he isn't there all the time so I needed him to help me be better with my dog. In the home sessions I got just that. Matt was watching me as much as Alfie and helped me correct behaviors that confused Alfie. He was clear and easy to learn from.

If you are looking for a dog trainer in the Bay Area, you must see Matt! We have been working with Matt since our golden retriever puppy Woody was about 5 months old and we cannot appreciate Matt enough for all the amazing work he has done for us. Woody is completing his board and train and we are so happy to see him being a confident and well-trained dog! When we got Woody, we were trying to train him by ourselves with training videos that you can find on YouTube; however we soon realized that it is very difficult and is not very effective as every dog is different. Also, there are too many different techniques on the same command and we got very confused and didn’t know which techniques to follow. However, after we started working with Matt, everything started progressing smoothly. What we like about Matt the most is his simple yet powerful and clear communication technique for our dog. It was not only helpful for Woody but it also made us easier to follow and train with. Also, Matt is very serious about what he is doing and is always willing to help and give advice through texts/calls and even with home visits if needed. There were many times we struggled in training but he helped us solve the issues like magic! Raising a dog is not easy but we were able to come this far because Matt was always there not only as Woody’s trainer but as our trainer to be a good and responsible dog owner. Most importantly, we have been able to enjoy training Woody since we met Matt because he also trained us how to train Woody properly. To be honest, we are not sure how Woody was turning out to be without Matt’s guidance. Woody is now becoming the greatest dog we could ask for!
