Matan Dog Training

Matan Dog Training has given us back a life with our “problem child” puppy, Bruce. The people working there are wise and warm and so clear with their communication. Our primary trainer, Amelia, along with Tiffany, have trained our Bruce with listening, following commands, such as Heel, Place, No, and Stay, Sit, Down, and more that we will practice with him after we go back for our session this Friday. I can’t say enough about how caring they are. Bruce was biting us, ruining everything in our house, and just crazy. We were told by a previous trainer that we might have to give Bruce up. But Matan said, No, we can help him. He stayed there for one month and their price was like the few other board and train places there are, and I’m so grateful to them—my kids and I are going for 2 more of the 4 training sessions that are included, for us. Amelia is teaching us how to carry on with the structure and foundation they have given us. Again, I’m so grateful. And I love their facility—it’s big and open and they take the pups out different places to acclimate them out in the world. I can’t say enough.

I adopted Luna from the rainforest in Puerto Rico. She was a sweet puppy, but very wild, understandably. We enrolled her in three weeks of board and train with Matan. Her primary trainer was Tiffany. I can’t tell you how happy I am with my experience. Not only did Heather, the office manager, keep me informed every step of the way, Matan and Tiffany trained us to keep up the consistency of what Luna learned. They were kind and understanding and helped us address related issues with another elderly dog we had at home. Luna is now home, very obedient, but with her sweetness untouched. She and my other dog get along wonderfully now, and my other dog is listening to the commands as well. I highly recommend Matan, Tiffany, And his other trainers.

We brought our 1.5-year-old pitbull mix to Matan’s four-week board-and-train program with the goal of getting her comfortable on an e-collar. From day one, we were impressed. The facility is spotless, the staff is friendly, and the evaluation process put us at ease. Like many owners, we were nervous about leaving our dog for four weeks, but the team kept us updated through their communication tool and answered all of our questions promptly. Each week, we visited to see her progress and were amazed at the solid foundation they built before moving on to more advanced work. Our dog’s transformation has been remarkable. She went from eating socks, refusing to drop toys during tug-of-war, and ignoring “down” commands to following them all with ease. She’s calmer, happier, and our bond with her is stronger than ever. Matan and his staff are incredibly knowledgeable and give you the confidence to succeed. We’ve continued with their group training classes, which feel almost like private lessons, and appreciate how they tailor each session to the dogs’ needs. If you want to enjoy life with your dog more and truly understand the value of training and obedience, I can’t recommend Matan’s program highly enough.

Both of my dogs have gone through board and train here and came back crate trained, more confident and definitely more socialized than they were before. Day care has also been a life saver for me when it comes to my younger dog, Cinder. She loves when I drop her off and I thoroughly enjoy watching the videos of her throughout the day. I feel comfortable leaving her in the care of their boarding program when I have to leave town. I would highly recommend them!
