Matan Dog Training

Life savers! My hubby and I are novices and needed a lot of help with our pup Finley. He is a sweetheart but was overly excitable around other people and animals. He also didn't know a lot of the basic obedience commands. We did a consultation with Matan and they recommended a two week board and train. That was the best investment we have ever made. The difference was night and day. He went from a dog that would lunge away when on leash to staying put off leash at Michael's (yes the craft store). Matan sent me the video to prove it! They are consummate professionals and are so nice! We didn't finish our puppy head-start program with LA School for Dogs because the owner would talk down to us. Matan is the complete opposite! We are forever grateful to Matan and will continue working with them.

I can’t say enough about Matan dog training and our amazing trainer, Amelia. My fur baby, Aro, was a timid, reactive, resource guarding rescue dog who had a troubled past. I was looking into different training classes in the area and heard about Matan dog training from the Nextdoor App. I called and talked to Spenser for 30 minutes and he answered all of my questions. I couldn’t do the ‘board and train’ due to Aro’s medical condition so I opted to do 8 private and 8 group sessions. He paired me up with Amelia and I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer. Amelia, thank you for everything you did for Aro. She is a completely different dog. We are finally able to walk her in public after 3 years. Amelia was so patient, kind, and knew exactly how to handle Aro. I implemented everything she taught me and I made sure to routinely practice at home. Aro has gained her confidence and became the dog I always knew she could be. MDT pairs leash pressure + commands and it’s truly amazing to see how well it works. I highly recommend you check them out. All of the trainers at the group session were wonderful as well. It’s a solid establishment and I’m so grateful to have found them. I added a new puppy (German Shepherd) to our family and he just returned from a two week board and train with Matan Dog Training. He is doing really solid healing, sit, down and stay. Its very hard to get impulse control for a 5 1/2 month old dog (who also already weighs 62 pounds) and he got a great foundation. Both Spencer and Bailey who are day to day contacts are phenomenal. The team also has day care where my older Shepherd has been going and Michael is simply remarkable. My older dog had a pack of little dogs charge her and she is very unsure all dogs are nice -- but he had her playing with multiple dogs, calmly and happily within minutes. We did our first training session with Tiffany who is also great. Years of experience and working with dogs. I'm continuing with more privates (so I get trained too and am consistent) and group classes to help build long term success.
