Mary D's Dog Training

We signed up two of our puppies (Louie and Sadie) to attend puppy classes with Mary. We placed them in separately classes so they could each get maximum training time each week. I was so please to see that the class sizes were only 3 and 4 students each. Each puppy and parent were given group and one on one instruction in every class. You learn many skills and you practice them in class so Mary can see you have the training techniques down. Then when returning each week we had the opportunity to review and ask more questions about the skills before going on to new skills. I am very pleased with what Louie, Sadie and I learned. Sadie graduated today (Louie will graduate next week) and I believe we have a solid foundation. This is kindergarten as I see it. Now we will continue to work on the skills so they can master them. After attending one dog training class BEFORE finding Mary, I was able to clearly see the difference in styles. Mary makes the training fun and engaging for both owner and pet. My Rosie has gone through 5 different training classes, and she loved them all (and loves Mary, too). She will be 6 soon and still is the nicest, sweet, well-behaved dog and loves to continue the (learning) games we played in Mary's classes over 5 years ago. I highly recommend Mary for her outstanding skills and patience.

Very disappointing experience. Communicated to Mary my top priority with puppy class was socialization. Unfortunately 2 of the 4 classes I attended did not have any other dogs. I asked for a refund for the last 2 classes and she offered to let my puppy retake in a larger class which I agreed to. She said she would let me know when the larger class started on 6/18, didn't her anything and received a call on 6/25 saying that class was canceled for that day. I had told the person who called I was never informed it was starting that day and asked when the next class was which was 7/9. 7/9 packed my pup in the car and drove out. After we got out of the car Mary approached me and said she was sorry she forgot to call that class was canceled again. I was very polite even though I was upset. Asked if I could walk my pup around before we went back in the car which she said was okay. Then proceeded to tell me I was not feeding my dog correctly and that her coat looked dry and dull which made me upset and put me in a panic I was doing something wrong to negatively affect my puppy. I immediately called my vet very upset and they were upset as well. They assured me my pup is healthy and her coat is beautiful and I am doing everything correctly. They said they did not agree with some of the advice she was giving me on what to feed my dog. After this, I was done. I asked Mary for a refund as we had discussed that option previously and she said she would send a check. Going on 23 days no refund. Asked her twice and she has read my texts and has refused to reply. I am taking further action with the bank and Better Business. This has been a stressful and time consuming experience and I am very disappointed in the unprofessionalism this business owner has shown.
