Marcum K9 Obedience: Dog Training

Marcum K9 did an excellent job training my dog, Brodi. They customize your service dog training to your specific needs. They also have been helping me gain confidence in training Brodi and in practicing what he learned with him. Also, with the 30-day board and train program that I chose, I can have follow up private lessons for a year and group lessons for life! Having Brodi as my service dog has been amazing, and I am able to live easier because I depend on him to care for my medical needs. I highly recommend Marcum K9 to anyone considering Service Dog training or regular obedience training. Having a well trained dog makes life so much more enjoyable and fun for both the owner and the dog. It is 100% worth paying for excellent training.

I have waited a while to post this but my dog Charlie went through the board and train at marcum. We dropped her off and she came home a dog scared everything, frightful of people. She’s a nervous wreck. I would not recommend doing the board and train. No one followed up with us, we just went home with this super scared dog and she’s been that way ever since. That shock collar changed my dog. Never again.

DO NOT take your dog here..I have heard more than one story where they mistreat and lose owners dogs..I have two very well known trainers who have told me she is not good. We had dropped my dog for training and with the time that she had him he has learned nothing but the commands he already knew. I also noticed scars from where my dogs shock collar was..I was advised by other trainers and other dog owners that she will in their words “nuke” the dog until they follow a command. She even told us to hold the shock until he obeys…that is just plain torture on those dogs. I have two others that have had ecollars and I NEVER did anything more than a slight nick..she is not worth the 3,500 she charges people

We took our rescue, Tillie, to Allison after two very scary attacks on other dogs in the household. We did the 2 week board and train and it has made such a difference! Not only did she teach tillie commands but also taught us how to spot and manage signs of conflict in the house (even taking time during the home visit to work with the other dog). We could not be more impressed with Tillies progress. She sent daily progress videos and was responsive to any questions we had after training was complete. If you are here checking reviews like I did because you were afraid you’d have to rehome your dog please give Allison a call! We checked with another trainer first and they said it wouldn’t work because tillie was too old.
