M.O.A. GUNDOGS

My Chesapeake Bay Retriever “Rexy” was in the 12 week Summer of ‘26 class. I was very excited when I found out there was an opening and I quickly sent my deposit. I was a bit nervous dropping off my dog but saw the roomy kennels, in an air conditioned warehouse, and left knowing Rexy was in good hands. Things were going good and I was getting Marv’s (owner/trainer) weekly reports and videos. Shortly after force fetch training Rexy ran into problems and lost his desire to retrieve. I got the report and was crushed. Marv gave me the bad news but assured me he wouldn’t give up on Rexy. Marv kept his word and came up with a plan that pretty much worked to perfection. He scaled back things and made training fun for Rexy. It worked and Rexy bounced back in a big way, I couldn’t have been happier and loved the videos of Rexy responding. Marv worked his magic and I couldn’t be more thankful. There’s a reason why he’s considered one of the best in the business and I highly recommend him. His communication is excellent, keeps you updated weekly (and then some) about your dog. He requires you to show up the last three weeks (one day each week) to train you on what your dog has learned. This was so helpful as he goes over what words to use and mechanics to use with your dog. Lastly he encourages you to reach out, once training is over, if you run into problems with your dog. The connection doesn’t end just because the 12 week course is over. M.O.A GunDog training, money well spent. I’m continuing working and reinforcing what Rexy learned as I look forward to the upcoming season.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with MOA Gundogs and owners Marv and Laura. They run an outstanding program, and it’s clear from the moment you meet them how much they care about the dogs in their program. The kennels are indoors, exceptionally clean, and kept cool during the hot summer months. Our dog was comfortable, well cared for, and in great hands throughout the entire training process. Communication was fantastic from start to finish. Marv and Laura kept us informed, answered all of our questions, and made the entire process easy and enjoyable. Most importantly, the training results were excellent. We couldn’t be more pleased with our now-started dog and the foundation they have given her. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and, above all, genuinely great people. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do and truly care about the dogs they work with.

Beginning the journey of picking up a new family/hunting dog after the loss of our last boy, that was a true family member was not an easy transition. When we finally found and picked up BUD we decided to start the search for obedience/gundog trainers. We had combed the websites, phone calls with trainers, and drove hours north and south to see different kennels. I ended up coming across the M.O.A waterfowl guide service website. Did a little more looking and noticed M.O.A GUNDOGS. I reached out to Marv and setup a visit. After seeing M.O.A’s Kennel facility had appropriate size kennel for each dog indoors, clean kept, climate controlled, during a walk through with Marv and all the explanation with answers to my questions. I went home and told the family BUD is definitely going into the summer training program. The communication with M.O.A is unmatched phone calls and text always answered within reasonable timeframe. Wednesday updates on what section of the program they are working on and how your dog is coming along. Mrs. M.O.A always on top of her game with scheduling and invoices. Was generous enough to walk through some of the handler training coming from the female side with my wife. I can go on and on…if you’re looking for an Obedience/Gundog training facility look no more. The M.O.A team truly cares about these dogs, and bringing the best out of them. As Marv told me once “TRUST THE PROCESS” Our family is thankful for M.O.A
