Lucky Star Dog Training

If you want to be able to take your dog anywhere, on or off-leash, you've come to the right place! I've had two of my dogs trained by Jen & Aaron, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. If you're considering getting your dog trained here, just do it. My life and the lives of my dogs are significantly better because of the training they received at Lucky Star. It's so much more fun taking them on adventures knowing their off-leash recall is dialed, they aren't pulling on the leash, and they obey my commands. I will always get my dogs trained here and board them with Jen & Aaron when I'm out of town!

I’m gunna be so for real, if you’re reading these reviews trying to find a good place to board and train your dog, THIS is THE place. For so long I have been doing research to find someone in the Austin area to help me train my pup and I was hesitant on pulling the trigger for a LOOONG time due to a terrible experience I had in the past. Please please read my full review because Aaron and Jen are perfect and beyond exceptional at what they do. I got myself a mini cavapoo earlier this year when my brother passed and my goal had always been to train him into a service dog that I have been needing for years, but I had put getting a service dog off due to a bad experience in the past. With that background, my dog, Vinny, has already been a huge learning experience for me. We got him at 8 weeks and he was a good boy, but an absolute insane ball of hyperactive CHAOS. Like insane, balls to the walls chaos. And he is TINY so whenever he had something he knew he shouldn’t have had, it would take two people to chase him all around in order to corner him etc. but was still a sweetheart and I knew he wanted to be “good”, but we just didn’t know how to communicate. I didn’t know how to “speak dog”. After bringing this fuzzball to Aaron and Jen, they have completely reeled him in in a way I NEVER thought was possible. This is the first dog I’ve had in my adult life, so I was being lenient with him and just assumed he couldn’t hold sits/stays etc because of his limited attention span and young age (he’s 11 months old currently). But I was so wrong. He is capable of so much more than I ever gave him credit for, and Jen and Aaron were able to show me that. As I’m typing this review, my once chaotic ball of fur is now sitting in his place, RELAXED, next to the couch while my cats run back and forth. HE NO LONGER CHASES THE CATS!! He also doesn’t immediately run to their food bowls and scarf down whatever’s left as fast as he can. If I say “leave it”, it’s like he immediately doesn’t care about it anymore and just literally focuses on me and what *I* want from him. He is now so eager to please and to be “good” and it’s amazing. I literally took him home 3-4 hours ago and it is night and day between now and the day before I dropped him at this program. When my husband and I went to pick him up, we just chatted with Aaron for a couple hours while Vinny just sat in his place and waited patiently! I could NOT BELIEVE MY FREAKING EYES. LIKE WHAT!? So circling back on why I chose them and why it was so helpful — I have always needed a service dog and wanted to try to self train, but I knew I needed help with obedience training for public access. After bringing Vinny home today I am confident that he will behave in public wherever I take him which is a HUGE step! 90% of the dogs I have met in my life are not trained as well as my dog is now, after only three weeks. I always thought this was something that would be impossible for a crazy fur ball like him, but the work that Aaron and Jen did with him is actually incredible. I still cannot believe my eyes. I’m no longer stressed about his previous unpredictability and bad habits, because now he is just SO eager to be good and reads my body language and actually seems like he can listen to what I’m saying and know what I mean. Anyway I’m getting really ramble-y, but I just had to express how much Vinny has improved. He’s still a little goober but just so well behaved. He can stay in place for hours, he’ll sit and lay down until I allow him to be free. He’ll respond to “leave it” and “off”. Aaron and Jen have given me this gift of freedom that I never knew I’d have. After losing my brother this year, Vinny helped me focus on keeping my life and daily routine on track, saving me from an impossible situation. And thanks to Jen and Aaron, we’re about to have an even stronger bond :) worth every penny

I cannot recommend Jen and Aaron enough! They are truly miracle workers. I have two pugs, Hazel and Eugene. Both are the most adorable pups you could ever imagine, but a bit stubborn. I was having trouble with them listening to me at all and their bonding process was not as anticipated. Jen and Aaron worked their magic and I am happy to report that they are bonded and actually listen now. Our connection is now unmatched and in sync. Jen and Aaron are great every step of the way and communication is seamless. If you are on the fence, just do it! You will not regret it!
