Lucky Star Dog Training

Short Review: I cannot recommend Lucky Star enough!! Sign your pup up now; you will not regret this! Long Review: When we first adopted our pup, Carl, he was about 4 months old. A friend of ours recommended we send him to Lucky Star; this is what he had done with his dog. We were slightly hesitant; partly the cost, partly because Carl wasn’t necessarily a bad dog, just unruly at times (like most dogs), and partly because we were apprehensive about e collars. However, we really wanted to be able to take Carl on hikes, roadtrips, off leash parks, and public spaces, knowing he would be well behaved and, most importantly, safe. Before officially deciding on the course, Jen called me and went over their training philosophy and answered all my questions. At no point did she make me feel pressured or rushed into making a decision. Once Carl was over 6 months old, my partner and I decided to go ahead with the training. It was THE BEST decision!! Carl was a good dog before the training, but now he is so much more confident, and we are able to take him on so many more adventures! We can go on simple excursions, such as going out to eat on a restaurant patio, to bigger trips, like driving and hiking off leash at Palo Duro Canyon, knowing that he will be safe and well behaved! Jen and Aaron are wonderful people and you can really tell they care so much about the dogs and people they work with. They are also really honest throughout the training process. Carl took a little longer to train than usual, and I appreciate them taking the extra time to make sure he was 100% ready rather than sending him home too soon. And the training, if you properly reinforce it at home, sticks! Carl has been done with his training for about 2 months and continues to do great! Jen and Aaron will say that this will change your life and your relationship with your dog, and they are 1000% correct! If we get another dog, I will sign up for this training again in a heartbeat! Jen and Aaron, thank you both so so much!!

There’s not enough words to describe how amazing my experience with Lucky Star Dog Training has been. Jen and Aaron worked with my boy Alfred in their board and train, and the results have exceeded beyond my expectations. Not just with obedience but Alfred confidence has improved tremendously. The support and communication that Jen and Aaron have provided and continue to provide has been superb. Alfred and I quality of life has skyrocketed since training. We cannot say enough good things about Lucky Star Dog Training! 🐾 When we first reached out, our German Shepherd Apollo was full of big energy, big feelings, and big instincts (chasing the cat, grabbing shoes, and launching himself at guests the moment they walked through the door). We didn’t want to change who he is… we just wanted help channeling that incredible drive in a better way. Lucky Star delivered. Apollo isn’t a “different dog” now, he’s still the same loving, goofy, confident, and spirited shepherd we adore. The difference is that he’s now more mindful, responsive, and much better at curbing his instincts. He can resist the urge to chase the cat, he no longer chews shoes, and he greets guests calmly instead of jumping on them. The balance of preserving his personality while improving his behavior is exactly what we hoped for. Another huge win: Apollo doesn’t mind his crate. He happily goes upon command, which speaks volumes about how positive and stress free his training experience was. What really sets Lucky Star apart is that their training facility is an actual house, not a sterile kennel environment. Apollo trained in a real-world setting with all the normal household distractions: furniture, sounds, movement, and everyday activity. This made his transition back home seamless. It truly prepared him for life in our home, not just “training class behavior.” The Lucky Star team was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about dogs. Their approach felt personalized to Apollo’s temperament rather than one-size-fits-all, and we felt supported every step of the way. If you have a high-energy dog and want meaningful, practical, and lasting results, I recommend Lucky Star Dog Training.

This is the second dog I’ve taken to Lucky Star, and even though I knew it would be nothing less than amazing again, I was still absolutely BLOWN away! Quinton came back a completely different dog in the best way. Prior to training, he was… well, a corgi. Stubborn and very committed to doing things his way. Now, he listens, he’s present, and he’s truly engaged with us. I can see how much happier and more confident he is, and how calm he feels moving through the world. It’s only been a week, and our bond already feels so much deeper. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and cuddly with us. We always knew he had so much love in him, but before training his focus was so scattered that it was hard for him to really show it. Now, that love actually gets to come through. Aaron gave us an amazing follow-up lesson after training, and Jen has consistently checked in and helped make the transition back home feel smooth and supported. They are both incredible trainers and genuinely wonderful people. It has been worth every single bit and more. We get to give Quinton the best life now and our lives feel so much richer because of it. Cheers to many adventures ahead with our well-trained, amazing pup! We could not be more grateful!!!
