Lucky Dog Training Club

My pup, Charlie, has gained SO much confidence, obedience, and impulse control since her first day of training at Lucky Dog. I can happily recommend this facility to anyone seeking obedience, manners, and proper socialization skills for their pup. The Director, Toni, is so knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with in managing our sweet Charlie’s training journey. A special shout out to Julia, THE trainer to finally get our stubborn girl into the Down cue position after months of us ourselves trying, and failing, at home. Julia has connected with Charlie in a very special way, and Charlie LOVES working and learning from her:). It’s so wonderful and entertaining to watch all the daily training videos they send of our sweet girl in action, as all the trainers are super knowledgeable and really care about the dog’s learning process and growth. We truly appreciate every single person that works at this facility. They are WONDERFUL! Thank you!!!!

Although Lucky Dog Training was great for socialization and play for my Golden Retriever, I expressed specific concerns with my puppy from the very beginning that I was seeking help with. Each request/reminder of these behaviors were ignored. After 5 training sessions, my puppy had made no improvement on any behaviors and especially not the ones we specifically asked for help with. Would not recommend for training, but would be great for the play sessions!

I like this place. I REALLY like the employees and Director, Tony. They have the patience of a saint and do not overwhelm or rush the dogs. Warm, caring staff who are pleasant and respectful when we pick up/drop off & clearly they have a successful program. We signed up for a month of full day training for our one yr old, Alfie. They send MANY videos daily of the work done with the dogs (sit, stay, wait, down, watch me, come/here, etc.). My dog knew some of these but I could not get Alfie to the 'down' position nor come when called but they have and we're only half way thru. The owner is pleasant and responsive to any queries (such as early pick up or the replacement of the harness breaking that they put on him - he chewed it when in resting phase of the day). They spend a lot of time with each dog, working them hard and with positive re-enforcement but the dogs have breaks throughout the day, too. I had worried it would be a glorified day care but that is not the case. Alfie was shy at first but you have to stick with it and trust the employees to do their job. In videos in the first days he was anxiously watching the door for us. By end of the second week he was thriving and paying attention to the gentle, caring staff who insist on eye contact and repetitive commands. At the very least, if you want a break from your dog whilst also having some training, it is a no brainer. However, at best you will have a socialized, enthusiastic, confident dog coming home with skills in his possession. Everyone should do this program. I endorse. Will definitely use again - probably half days because we miss our lil pal. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be the answering service. Could be warmer/more friendly and almost put me off since it seemed hurried - like she said the same info many times per day & had to get back to tending dogs, but I heard no one at the Club with her voice so can only be an answering svs. Luckily, a good friend had referred me so we went ahead anyway. This is sad but quite common. Lucky dog appears to be in financial straits. I'm not sure yet if it is Chapter 11 or 13 or even 7 bankruptcy but it is clear that they are most motivated to charge your card for classes above all. Do not do that. They never showed up for my class and never responded by phone or email or text. Reverse any charges you have made. Inspecting the grounds around the facility looked like probable bankruptcy.
