Lucid Dog Training

I was so happy to have found Lucid Dog Training. We adopted a dog that came with some unusual behaviors. Chris used his extensive knowledge of dogs/breeds (and dog owners;) to help me understand our dog's emotional state and related behaviors. The mindful, positive training style has brought a calmness to our dog, and I feel equipped to continue training him in the future. After each training session, Chris provided an email summary of progress and goals, as well as helpful links for further understanding of the week's focus, which was so very helpful!. He also helped determine the type of training collar that best suits a small but strong minded dog. I wholeheartedly recommend Lucid Dog Training for those looking for mindful behavioral training!

Wow! Our young Chow Chow , Bayley, is thriving thanks to Lucid Dog Training. Once very nervous around people, other dogs, and new places, she learned to walk well on the leash and follow commands (such as waiting on her bed and not rushing the door when people knock), and is even calm if we take her to dog friendly cafes. I think the training was as helpful for us humans as it was for Bayley. We highly recommend this.

I have a 3-year-old long hair mini dachshund and decided to get some help training her. I had read good things about Lucid Dog Training & decided to give the owner Chris a call. I am an 83+ year old lady with little to no previous experience. Chris is very tuned into the process that it takes for someone like me to learn and follow through with his training. After all it's more about training the owner than the dog. He has a talent of making things easy to understand the reasoning behind the way training is done. Which helped me to understand what and why my dog did or didn't do what she does. My little dog is so happy and so am I. Judy

I can't recommend Chris at Lucid Dog Training highly enough. When I started working with him, I was very overwhelmed by puppyhood and feeling like I was really struggling to make progress. Chris brought a level of calm, realism, and compassion that made a huge difference. He helped me better understand my puppy's behavior, gave me practical tools I could actually use, and never made me feel judged when things weren't going perfectly. What I appreciated most was that Chris genuinely cared about both me and my dog. He wasn't interested in quick fixes or making me feel bad about where we were; instead, he met us there and helped us make steady improvements. He was also incredibly responsive between sessions and always willing to answer questions. Dog training is as much about supporting the human as it is the dog, and Chris excels at both. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just want a trainer who is knowledgeable, kind, and realistic, I would absolutely recommend Lucid.
