My Poppy, a Bernese Mountain Dog, has been training with Josh since she was 10 weeks old. Starting early has made such a difference with this strong working breed. She has learned great socializing skills being with the other dogs during day training too. I can’t say enough about the staff either. Each one bonds with and gives love to the dogs all day long. I have a happy and tired dog at the end of the day.

My husband and I rescued a pit from a local shelter. When we first brought her home, she chased our cats. After months of working on it with her, she has definitely improved and usually just watches them walk by. They aren't best friends yet, but maybe someday. Athena, our dog, also reacts to other dogs, but it was harder for us to train her since there are no other dogs in our house and our neighborhood is full of them (so we cannot do the 'avoid dogs' thing). I learned about Josh through a common friend and decided to try it out. While neither my husband or I like the type of chain used, neither of us have used it the way Josh showed me. On the initial lesson, Josh, Athena, and I walked around the neighborhood near his business. He showed me how to handle Athena so that she pays attention to me and not the dogs around. While she pulled a little bit, we were able to walk by and sit in front of a house that had a barking dog on a leash; we also were able to do passes with a couple other dogs learning. Since the class, by husband and I have been working with her on walks. She now will sit before putting the leash on, sit before leaving the house, and sometimes sit when we stop on the walk (it is a work in progress). She is still reacting to dogs (and kids on bikes, which is a whole other thing) but not nearly as bad as before. She is still a work in progress, but I gave Josh 5 stars because I am happy with the improvement and the lessons learned. She will get there someday.

Let me start off by saying that I have a black GSD that was rescued from a shelter and is dog reactive. I first heard of this place through a coworker that also had a reactive dog. Well my coworker told of how much progress had been made after just a one week training session. He ended up doing two weeks and was very pleased with the results. After hearing this, I had to give it a try. I did an evaluation session with Josh and did a 1 week session. I have to say that my dog had tremendous progress with obedience and with other dogs. I never did another session due to the distance I travel (spent about 3 hours a day driving here). I would have really liked to see what could have been done with my dog in another weeks worth of training. The trainers here are very nice and are very passionate about dog training. I highly recommend this place. Incredible staff here.
