About Lomita Obedience Training Club
Lomita Obedience Training Club (LOTC) is a nonprofit dog training club run by volunteers and is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, California. We have been providing companion dog training and competitive sports dog training to the community since 1954. Our classes include puppy manners & socialization, companion dog manners, tricks, obedience and conformation. Most classes are offered through Lomita Parks and Recreation and are held in a secure, fenced area. Our instructors are club members with years of experience and have helped hundreds of families train their dogs. They use training techniques based on positive reinforcement and marking desired behavior. They can also provide consultation services for special problems.

Yes, most dogs will take several sessions. Often dogs just starting will take Beginning more than once. As the handler gains experience, they are able to focus on different aspects and refine their technique.

I’ve participated in tracking and parkour training with Lomita Obedience Club and have had wonderful experiences with them. Trainers are professional, dedicated to their craft and exceptional dog advocates. I highly recommend training with them.
If you need a fun, well organized and professional dog trainer this is the group for you! Omg! I rescued a 4 year old golden who was abused and caged for his first years of life… without this class Ollie (my dog) and I would have be lost!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The owner cares tremendously and always has new fun ways to train you little you! 5 stars!!!!

She has been patient and kind and given me so much good advice. She has worked tirelessly with me…even when I struggled to get the concepts she was presenting. I like that the class is at Ernie Howlett Park…a perfect spot for Parkour class! Carolyn has guided me to a better behaved dog, so we are now able to enjoy classes like this! Without hesitation I would recommend Lomita Dog Training and Carolyn Peters!
The trainers are very helpful and understanding. I appreciate their time and patience with our puppy. He improved immensely with their help.
