Lodi Kennels

ACTUALLY NO STARS. On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, I was in the vicinity of Lodi Kennels and attempted to call several times to see if it was okay for my friend and I to stop by and view the place. We could not get in touch with anyone but saw their sign and decided to stop by. Off the main road at their sign was a gravel road and a house to the right but no kennel or cars, so we continued the drive thru an open gate. There was another house on left with a couple cars in drive, but no kennel, so we drove past it to end of road where we found the kennel. There were no cars there. When we got out and went to the door and knocked there was no response so we turned the door knob and it was open. We heard dogs bark and walked to the next door of office and that door was unlocked. I barely opened the door and saw a kennel with a dog inside and more than one dog barking. We called out several times from the door carefully in case there were any loose dogs. But no one answered. We went back outside, walked around and called out, but no answer and we left. It seemed a nice facility, a country setting aways off the main paved road, however, I was very upset and told my friend, despite the good reviews, I would never leave my dog there. I hope whoever was suppose to be there was okay and not lying dead somewhere. I can understand someone having to leave the facility mid afternoon, but leaving the place unlocked, with no cars or person in site was unforgiveable in my opinion! Had we wanted, we could have walked out with someone's dog.
