Live Oak Dog Obedience offers year-round dog training classes and private instruction in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, including indoor classes during the winter months. Classes are generally small so personalized attention and guidance can be achieved. Once your fee is paid you are more than welcome to come to any of the classes offered, Obedience (Puppy, Novice, Intermediate and Advance), Agility, Rally, Scent Training, Tracking, Off leash Training and Walk and Train Classes in indoor and outdoor areas. Jan sure enjoyed working with you and River is really doing well. I think I have two more lessons so was wondering if you could recommend classes that might be good for us?
You might want to try the Trick and Job Class. In this class we work on some fun tricks but also teach jobs that would help you as a service dog. It is a fun relaxed class that will give you some things you could also work on at home. Also, the Walk and Train Classes through the winter will help you work him in different locations and businesses.

I have a 5 yr old male lab not neutered. Very little training. Very food and human motivated. Do you train dogs like this. How many can attend the class

Jan will most definitely help you and your dog! I've seen miracles happen with aggressive, nervous, shy, and formerly abused dogs.

I only attended a few classes because I realized the training techniques were terrible and what majority of trainers do not recommend. Not to mention, she would say factually incorrect things about dogs and their anatomy during the sessions, things that you can simply look up and be proved wrong. So if she doesn’t even know basics about dogs, I certainly don’t trust her training them. It also made my dog incredibly unhappy and act far worse than before. Since taking on the opposite techniques than the ones she teaches, my dog has gotten much better. I never finished the classes so I asked for a refund which she would not give me. She told me to sell the rest of my paid classes on KSL, but I cannot in good conscience send someone else her way.

We couldn't recommend Jan enough! She took the time to answer every question we had before ever signing up for classes. Now that we are in classes, we have seen a night and day difference in our dogs behavior. She gives you all of the tools / knowledge you need to be successful in your dog training and will modify the training based on your personal needs as well as your dogs personality / problems. I truly feel like she cares more about the well being of your dog and your relationship with them rather than the money involved. I wish every dog and owner had to go through these courses!

Jan is amazing. She has such natural instincts with dogs. My dog is a very strong young lab and I thought I'd always be dragged and jumped on. But even after the first lesson he walked out like a gentleman and Jan gave me some great pointers and direction to take him.
Needless to say I highly recommend live Oak dog obedience.
