Live Free K9

I highly reccomend Adam and Live Free K9 to any and all dog owners. We started working with him a few months ago to help our boy Sterling with dog reactivity, and our quality and quantity of life with him has improved greatly since then. Adam is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, he truly loves dogs and wants to see both owners and dogs succeed in whatever goal they are working towards. He has shown us that old dogs can learn new tricks, seemingly lazy dogs actually do love learning, and we are so happy to have built a relationship with him. From basic manners to more complex behavioral issues, Adam is a fantastic resource to achieving your goals.

Adam was amazing! He helped us finally understand what was going on with our sweet girl — she’s not stubborn, just scared of life and in need of more structure. I was blown away after our very first session. Normally, walking her looks like I’m trying to take a feral cat for a stroll, but Adam had our corgi heeling within 20 minutes. The hardest part for us is consistency, but he gave us every tool we needed to keep succeeding at home. We’re so grateful for this program. Highly recommended!

My wife & I got a blue heeler/aussie shepherd mix pup (Marshall) as a rescue from a shelter. A handful to say the least plus very nervous and reactive. He was so nervous, he had horrible itching and irritated skin. We needed help with him, and an acquaintance told us about Live Free K9 and Adam’s work with a relative’s dog. We (humans and Marshall) met with Adam and formulated a plan to get him on the right track. Wow. After the first hour with Adam, he was walking in “heel” with a loose leash. We went on to learn how to help Marshall meet new people and other dogs and generally learn better manners. In less than a month, Marshall transformed from a nervous, reactive and stubborn dog into a happy, well-behaved little guy. He learns and follows commands. He walks on a loose leash (off-leash training coming). He is way happier. He did get a shot from out vet to calm his itching short term, but the itching has not returned, so fingers crossed that he won’t need regular treatment now that he’s happier. We found Adam to be knowledgeable, patient and kind to Marshall. His insights helped us to learn how to more effectively communicate with our dog. He was available every day to answer questions, give us more tips, etc. Live Free K9 provides an excellent service and we are grateful for Adam’s help. We’re looking forward to more training for Marshall.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADAM! We have two young pups. One is now about 2 years old and is a Chocolate lab and the second is just about a year old and is a German Shepard. We had both dogs in R+ (positive reinforcement training), but neither was getting better. Dare I say they were getting worse? We were spending lots of money and nothing pawsitive (see what I did there) was happening. The positive trainer said to give it time, we have crazy working dogs, or we could look into medicating them. At that point, they were 6 months and a year and a half, and if something was failing them, it was me as a trainer and the methods I was using. There is no way my 6-month-old dog needs meds. So after 8 months of frustration on everyone's part (humans and dogs alike) to figure it out, we found Adam. Now known as Uncle Adam to the pups and he helped us find our sanity again. He is very knowledgeable about his craft. He is patient and wants you to succeed. He cares. He cares about you, your dog, and the success you have together. I can't say enough good things about Adam as a human and as a dog trainer. You want him on your side.
