Contrary to popular belief service dogs can help people with disability's that are not visible. Social anxiety disorder and depression are disability's. A service dog for anxiety can do more than just comfort. They can detect signs of an anxiety attack before it happens, fetch medication or someone to help them calm down. There are plenty of service dogs for people who have disability's that are "invisible" to other people. There are also dogs for PTSD for adults AND children. I do hope you find a service dog for your daughter or at least an emotional support animal. Don't let other people put you down and say service dogs are not for mental disability's as well, because they can be!

There is no certification for service dogs, and have no legal standing. A service dog must be tasks trained for a person’s disability, the American with disabilities act states that comfort is not a task. You can either owner train, or apply to a service dog program that trains dog, some are free but have a 5 year waiting list. Others are quite expensive but you can apply for finical support, normally the money range is in the thousands.
