Taking our Giant Schnauzer, Grim, to train with Ashley and her team is the best decision that we could have made! As a first-time large-breed working-dog owner, I knew we would need a lot of help properly training Grim. Ashley not only trained Grim, but also trained my husband and me out of some previously learned bad habits. Over the last couple of years, we've scheduled private tutoring, Kamp K9 day training, Board & Training, and Boarding Retreats, and each time, Ashley and her team have been kind, professional, and straightforward when necessary. Limitless Canines has been such an integral part of Grim's training from 3 months old to present that he can hardly hold his excitement when Grim is asked, "Ready to go to Aunty Ashley's?!"

In a world of AI, Ashley provides a genuine human touch. We took Huey to Limitless Canines to address issues with obedience, recall, and house training. By closely following the program at home, reviewing recordings of training sessions, and taking the in person meetings seriously, Huey's behavior has vastly improved. Beyond the original plan we have Huey enrolled in twice weekly day training to provide enrichment and to reinforce the established framework. Additionally, they worked with our schedule and provided convenient drop-off and pick-up times that are outside of conventional hours, and encourage communication outside of just "office hours." Ultimately dog training is as much about training dogs as it is training humans. To accomplish your goals, take it serious and be an active participant in the program.

Great for one on one dog training and learning a structured set of skills geared towards basic obedience with your pup. We opted for the hybrid course of day training twice a week + once a week 1on1 classes that helped us to learn how to interact with our dog for best results. Of course there’s at home work to be done and the success of the training will rely primarily on the consistency there, but overall a great flexible program if you struggle with communicating with your dog (as I certainly did) and find it’s causing tension or frustration. In terms of pricing, it’s definitely not cheap but matches with similar offerings in this area and there’s great value in the program. I’d say that the package we did with lessons + day training is most worth it if you’re able to spend the money, but just the one on one lessons probably would produce similar results if you can dedicate more time daily to perfecting the behaviors. As a couple that works full time, my husband and I find the day training lessons valuable for behavior reinforcement and Huey gets to let out some energy twice and week and gets treats for being the goodest boi so we think it’s worth the money for his enrichment. :) There’s monthly pricing for different amounts of weekly visits (1x, 2x, or 3x per week) that are quite similar to “doggy daycare”costs. It does require additional materials like various lengths of leashes (which we purchased directly through Limitless) and perhaps some additional doggy furniture/supplies if you don’t already own them. We opted to purchase 2 lengths of leashes, an additional “upstairs” crate for bedtime, and raised platforms that aid in some of the training, so I’d budget an extra $200-$300 into the overall cost to accommodate these items. The structure of each lesson was great and you get in the moment demonstrations and instruction to help understand the best way to perform each exercise. Personally, I enjoyed the direct feedback we got during lessons since it’s efficient and maximized the time available, but if you struggle with being spoken to in a direct manner then that is something to consider. Being open to the feedback and learning what is wrong with how you currently interact with your dog is a large part of what will make this successful. Our corgi still behaves like a corgi, which is to say that he will probably always be kind of (read: extremely) stubborn, but there’s a noticeable difference in his behavior and in my own understanding of how best to interact with him.

Ashley worked with our school, in Baltimore County. He presented at our Academic Night, to help launch our One School One Book. Ashley was professional, came prepared with different options of presentations. Ashley brought her pup Willow, with the help out her friend and fellow trainer, Lamar, who bright his pup Mando. Ashley taught our student about reading a dog’s emotions, teaching them about the importance of words to a dog, and engaged our students in a hands on opportunity to practice with the dogs! Ashley and Lamar stayed to take pictures and answer questions. They even looked into our book to support the importance of why we chose dogs; our book was about a girl and her dog, from the dog’s perspective. If you’re looking for someone to talk to children about training, I highly recommend Ashley! Our students had a blast!!
