Life is dog, Inc

Our training experience at Life is Dog with Nance was absolutely fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone! Our dog is a little over a year and a half old and our previous experience with puppy kindergarten (at a different facility) went very poorly [mostly because the trainers were not very attentive and our dog is very timid]. At Life is Dog, the experience was totally different, in a positive way, from the beginning. I filled out the extensive survey and scheduled the consultation with Nance. During the consultation, Nance was extremely kind, professional, and handled our dog with clear expertise. I was initially thinking we needed the reactivity program, but after discussing our goals and meeting our dog, Nance suggested a different, individualized program. I was very appreciative that we weren't sold a more extensive and expensive program that our dog didn't need, so from the beginning, I felt we were working with a professional and honest business. We ended up having 5 private sessions (3 at the facility and 2 at a nearby park) with Nance and each one was great. She helped my spouse and me incrementally reach the goals we set with our dog. Each week, we could see our dog's progress and confidence grow. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would recommend this facility to anyone!

We took two of our three rescues to Life is Dog for private training sessions after recommendations from multiple co-workers and they did NOT disappoint! Our youngest dog (Nikko - Belgian Malinois) had a traumatic past that led to him being fearful of novel objects, people, sounds, etc. and leash aggressive - it made it difficult for us to walk him, let alone be able to take him places and live his fullest life. Nicole was assigned as our trainer and worked to a) help Nikko gain confidence, and b) help us learn how to communicate with Nikko and help him feel empowered to make his own (correct) decisions. After only the first session, we were able to take Nikko to a crowded brewery with zero negative interactions - it was a complete 180! By the end of six 45-minute sessions, Nikko was a brand new dog. Our oldest pup (Kinzo - Shepherd/Pit Mix) is so friendly but dealt with a lot of anxiety with new people, leading to overexcitement, whining, jumping, etc. We were a little skeptical that we'd be learning different tools to help Kinzo compared to Nikko. Nance went above and beyond to tailor the program specifically for Kinzo - we saw an immediate shift in his ability to control his urges, patience, and his level of comfort with just sitting still. By the last of six sessions, Kinzo was able to calmly sit while a stranger entered the room and sanded walls, talked to Nance, etc. We cannot recommend Life is Dog enough - we truly appreciate the transformation of the pups and will continue using the tools we've learned with our dogs.
