This is a long review, but here’s the big idea: I think Hasani Davis is easily one of the best dog trainers in the country right now. We drove all the way from Arkansas to do the 5 week board and train because Hasani’s approach was unlike anything else we’d read about. We are tremendously happy with the experience and the results. As a result of the training, Monk (our dog) is calmer, more confident, and more resilient. Even better, we as Monk’s owners feel so much more capable and confident in our relationship with him. Training with Hasani is the best decision we have yet made for our dog and our family. What sets Hasani apart from other dog trainers is that he works from the ground up, structuring your dog’s behavioral foundation rather than solely focusing on commands. This means that the dog learns to make good decisions even when you aren’t giving a cue. It means that you don’t need your dog to always be in command because their new baseline is neutral and calm. Hasani focuses on structure rather than symptoms. Here’s an example. Monk used to freak out whenever someone came to our door and it became stressful to invite people over. Other trainers told us to put him in a “place” command or just meet people on the street. These suggestions responded to the symptom – barking at guests and rushing the door – but didn’t fix the root of the behavior – our dog’s nervousness about space and who controls it. Instead of these bandaid solutions, Hasani built up Monk’s pack drive – his confidence derived from being attuned to his social leaders (us). Now, when someone comes to the door we can put Monk in pack drive and he is calm and composed, all while making his own decisions. This is so cool to see! The reason he no longer barks and rushes the door isn’t because he’s in a command that prevents him from that behavior, it’s because he no longer feels the need to bark and rush the door because he derives security from his pack. Being able to cue our dog’s switch into a pack mentality is just one of many tools Hasani gave us, which ultimately amount to a communication system. Hasani taught us how to work with our dog and clearly communicate with him. He gives you a toolkit, which empowers you to keep improving long after the training session is over. It means that when your dog has off-days or setbacks, you know how to respond and work through it as a team. Honestly, the most satisfying moments aren’t when Monk is being perfect, it’s when he’s struggling, because now we know how to work through it together. The other day I took Monk to a busy farmer’s market and at first he was overstimulated and distracted. I pulled off to the side and started doing some leash work with the dog like Hasani taught us. Within 2 minutes Monk was locked back in on me and I spent the rest of the morning at the market with him in a calm heel, indifferent to everything that was happening around us and focused on me. One of our favorite things about Hasani is that he’s really good at communicating with humans, too. Hasani is direct, clear, and genuinely listens to your experience and perspective. I spent the first 6 months of raising a puppy saying “ugh I just wish I knew the right thing to DO” whenever frustrating moments arose, and with Hasani on our team we finally have the answers. As we picked up Monk from the last day of his board and train, Hasani said to us that Monk now had every skill he’d need for the rest of his life, baked in. All we have to do is keep the wheels greased. That is exactly true. Our dog left his training more confident, calmer, and more resilient, and we left with a road map, which finally took all of the second guessing out of dog training. We are now enjoying life to the fullest with Monk -- off leash hikes, eating on patios, adventures, all because Leash Drop Canine helped set us up for success. 10,000 stars for Hasani and his remarkable, professional team!

We cannot say enough great things about Hassani and his training program! The transformation we’ve seen in our Rottweiler puppy has been incredible. He has made tremendous strides in his obedience, eye contact, responsiveness, and ability to take cues from us. But what has impressed us most is how much the training has changed our everyday life with him. Walking him is no longer stressful, we feel much more confident handling and communicating with him, and he has become an even more enjoyable member of our family. The difference is noticeable to other people, too. Our friends genuinely enjoy being around him now and can appreciate him as the loving, well-mannered dog we knew he could be. Hassani, as the owner and head trainer, has done an amazing job not only training our dog but also helping us build a better relationship with him. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Hasani and his staff at Leash Drop Canine! Our Bull Terrier, Kane, completed their 3-week Board and Train program beginning August 3rd, and the difference has been incredible. Before training, walking Kane could be challenging because he would pull on his leash and wasn’t always easy to manage. Since completing the program, he no longer pulls on his leash and is a much more well-behaved, structured, and manageable dog. What really stood out to us was Hasani’s knowledge, patience, and genuine dedication to the dogs he works with. If there’s a stubborn dog breed, it’s the bull terrier. Our six-year-old Lester used to run the house and guard every corner. Guests, other dogs, new places, he thought everything belonged to him. But after working with Hasani, our home feels much more balanced. Between May and June, Lester spent five weeks with Hasani at Leash Drop Canine. This week, Hasani came to our home for the first follow-up. The difference is amazing. Our walks are organized; Lester can play off-leash at the park, and he doesn’t chase every bike or squirrel anymore. He barely notices them now! At home, he has his own spot to relax and knows he needs to follow commands and do some training before playtime.
