The trainer here Mark is absolutely the best solution for dog training. We tried a couple other dog trainers before him that just didn’t seem like the fit for us but as soon as we took our French Bulldog to Leader of the Pack it was a game changer. Mark listened very closely to all of our concerns during the first session and got to work right away, after the first week of consistency we were seeing results that we couldn’t even believe. He understands dogs like no other and is by far the only trainer we would recommend to anyone we know!

Mark Dunlap and Leader of the Pack Dog Training are nothing short of incredible. Mark is truly the leader of the pack when it comes to dog trainers. Mark trained a prior dog about 15 years ago and when I purchased my new puppy, there was no question who I was going to call. In the weeks leading up to my new pup's arrival, I reached out to Mark to make sure I had a solid plan in place. Mark graciously took his time to explain his current training options and to help develop a plan for when training should start and the best way to go about it. The dogs we had growing up were all relatively well-behaved, but there is no substitute for a professionally trained pooch. I was able to feel confident that when I issued a command, it was followed precisely. It isn't that I want to boss my dog around, but sometimes adhering to a command is a safety or even a life-saving matter. There were times I thought I knew better than Mark's guidance and recommendations, but after his patient explanation, I yielded to his expertise. I learned time and again that I didn't know what I was talking about, as every time my doubt was misplaced - Mark's direction was spot on. Gone were the days of having to tell my dog to do something several times. It was a one-and-done situation following Mark's training of both me and the dog. Many trainers can get results, but I question the tactics used. The true measure of Mark's gift was his ability to get magnificent results and the fact that my dog would still loose his mind when he saw Mark - excited and truly overjoyed to see his friend Mark again. Once training began for my newest canine companion, I was met by the same friendly Mark I knew all those years ago. Mark has an understanding of a dog's behavior that is second to none. Mark communicates directly and helps you understand the "why" behind his coaching of both dog and human. It is incredible to watch Mark garner nearly immediate compliance with his commands after mere minutes in the presence of a new puppy. I am confident that Mark has the ability to turn nearly any dog into an incredibly well-behaved, compliant, companion, who still exhibits all of its inherent personality traits. Good training is not cheap, but when you amortized the cost of the training over the 12-15 years you hope your dog lives, it is a cheap price to pay for 12-15 years of peace, rather than 12-15 years of arguing with your dog to get them to do the most basic of things. I don't offer my recommendation lightly, but Mark has earned every bit of confidence I have in him. I will NEVER use any trainer other than Mark - my only hope is that he is still training dogs as long as I continue to have them. If you have a dog that needs some help to be the best they can be, look no further than Mark and Leader of the Pack Dog Training. Mark is completely gifted at what he does. He’s effective at communicating the art and science of truly understanding the bond a dog shares with their owner. The anxiety that I initially felt before meeting with him regarding her reactive behavior is gone. I now feel well-equipped to respond appropriately in different triggering scenarios for both her and me. Lily did absolutely amazing in her training session with him. We both left feeling a lot more confident, and I definitely recommend working with Mark to assist with behavioral issues. I have a newfound sense of clarity when it comes to my baby girl, along with more realistic expectations.

Working with Mark was a great experience. Our in-home visit was very thorough. Mark helped us with a variety of issues from proper feeding, leash training with a prong collar to energy work for communication and control. I felt more knowledgeable on how to handle our year old LGD but, even more important, felt renewed and able to face the challenges of an adolescent dog. I look forward to continued training.
