Roger Conant, the owner of Landmark Retrievers retired in March of 2020. Megan Moore worked at Landmark from Oct. 2014- March 2020 and then ran Retreats Ranch which took over Landmark from March 2020- September 2022. Terrible company!
These people believe yanking dogs in the air by their ears and punching them in the face repeatedly is a sound training technique. These people believe yanking dogs in the air by their ears and punching them in the face repeatedly is a sound training technique. Not only is this practice abusive, it will create lifelong fear and aggression in the dogs they train. At least one of their trainers has done this while another watched next to him. The trainer has stated that he believes his actions were right and sound training and has not been removed from this company’s staff. That tells me that it’s very likely all the trainers at this place conduct themselves similarly and have no understanding of basic canine behavior or training.
Seen the video and this is disgusting!!
I have never taken my dogs to this place. But after watching one of their so called dog trainers physically abuse a dog. We never will! Place needs to be immediately shut down and charges brought against the owners and employee.
