Lake Stevens K9 Academy

This was our first experience with professional training so we weren't sure what to expect. We started with the "Puppy Boot Camp" for our 4 month old pittie and moved to "Puppy Kindergarten." For our 2.5 year-old rottie mix, we started with the "Basic Manners" class. All three experiences were life-changing. Amanda was amazing! It is clear she truly loves her job and cares about you and your pups learning and growing together. Her dedication to educating us on the psychology and science of dog behavior taught us how to communicate and be better dog parents. What we especially loved was the emphasis on positive reinforcement and building confidence and trust for both the owners and the dogs. The transformation and growth we saw in our dogs and ourselves has given us the knowledge and foundation to continue developing the skills for happy, confident, and well trained dogs. Our very bouncy Australian Bernedoodle is so smart but is an embarrassingly happy little jumping bean. Some how Amanda has not only put up with our chaos for a session of puppy kindergarten, but has successfully started to shape our floof into a semi functional puppy with two rounds of puppy boot camp. We are now onto puppy elementary and our 3rd round of boot camp and continue to appreciate Amanda’s training knowledge. We love that classes don’t feel strict with the expectation that us and our dog needs to perform perfectly. And it doesn’t hurt that our baby absolutely loves Amanda- I think more than she loves us 😂

Highly recommend Lake Stevens K9 Academy. Kim is upbeat and positive but the real magic is that she meets dogs where they are—Nothing is cookie cutter, and there’s Amazing support and positivity each and every class. Shy and reactive dogs blossomed as they were able to move at their own pace, and those ready for more challenging exercises were given those opportunities. Kim made sure class was meeting ALL participants needs.
