L A School For Dogs - Best Dog School in California

Jennifer and her team were a joy to work with! I adopted Poppy (a shepherd/cattle dog mix) and quickly found out that she had no training and was very nervous around everything and everyone. Jennifer was patient with both Poppy and me working on basic manners and learning how to read Poppy's body language. After private lessons at LASFD, I am now confident whenever out walking with Poppy. No matter if it is around town or out on a hike, I am confident in knowing how to handle Poppy and her fun "quirks" to keep us both comfortable! I would highly recommend Jennifer and her team for anyone who has a dog!

I could not recommend LA School for Dogs and Jennifer more. I brought in my 3 1/2 year old Pomeranian, Brodie, and after the 3 Week Day Camp, he came home a changed dog. Brodie is (and this is an unbiased opinion) the cutest dog in the world. Because of that, I let him rest on his looks for the first three years of his life and shrug it off if he didn't listen to my commands. After his time with Jennifer and Ashley and Andrea, Brodie now sits whenever I ask, lays down, stays, and heels. The one-on-one time I had with Jennifer was so valuable too, as she trained me and let me know what behaviors I was exhibiting that were hindering Brodie's learning. Highly, highly recommend!

I don't know what I would have done if I would not have found LA School for Dogs! I have had a few other dogs and had no problems with them. However, my new border collie puppy was very fearful outside of the house and was showing signs of aggression toward strangers and in public. I read articles online and watched YouTube videos and tried many tactics but nothing was working and she seemed to be getting worse. I was at my wits end and I realized that I was in over my head. I started with the puppy head start program which Jessica adjusted specifically to the concerns I had about my puppy. I then signed her up for the 3 week program as soon as she turned 6 months old and I can't believe how far she has come! She went from barking furiously past playgrounds, basketball courts, soccer fields, and other "noisy" environments to actually laying down and staying right next to them. Jessica has helped build her confidence and mine too! I have had to get out of my comfort zone and learn how to be a better and more confident leader for my dog. They were not afraid to correct me and let me know what I needed to do to help her overcome her issues. I have learned so much and so has my puppy. The whole team at LA School For Dogs has done an exceptional job and they truly love and care about my dog. Any dog I ever own will go through this program!

Jennifer Mann, who is the owner of LA School for Dogs, has a deep and profound understanding of dogs and dog behaviors. She is also a passionate dog-lover, which is evident with how she treats the animals in her care. Jennifer achieved extraordinary results with our dog, a golden retriever puppy. We started with Puppy Head Start, which taught the basics, such as sit and down. But, as importantly, this prepared him for the next step, which was the intensive Three-Week program where the dog learned to heel, sit, stay, go down, settle, come, and go to his place. During the parental lessons, Jennifer worked closely with us to teach the skills that we needed to continue our dog's training at home. She was very patient and would help us get it right, no matter how long it took. Jennifer also worked with us to identify and correct a behavioral issue with our dog, which included excessive excitement when encountering other people, often leading to excitement urination. Jennifer knew the tricks to help the dog become desensitized to this excitement, which allows us to take him out in public without experiencing any issues. Using Jennifer's techniques, we have continued to train our dog to obey new commands, such as shake and roll-over. We highly recommend training your dog at LA School for Dogs. It is highly effective and will lead to a calm, happy, and well-trained dog.
