Would highly recommend Christa’s board and train! We were struggling with quite a few things with our dog Roscoe, such as behavioral issues, grooming and crate anxiety. Since his board and train, he has improved immensely in all of his pain points. He no longer runs the household and we feel we have a better understanding and trust built between us and our dog. Christa made Roscoe’s transition home easy and not overwhelming, and she’s always willing to answer questions which we really appreciated. To anyone considering a board and train with Christa, it is worth every penny you wont regret it! UPDATE: One year later and Roscoe is doing awesome!! We love taking him to the beach with us and letting him play in the waves. His crate and bed stays have been so helpful to us when we leave the house or have people over. We also love boarding Roscoe with Christa when we go on trips. It gives us peace of mind to know he is well taken care of and his training will continue while we’re gone.

We sent our 8 month old puppy to Christa(KoenaK9) for the 4 week board and train. It was difficult to coexist with him so I was very skeptical that he could be trained. The results far exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be happier. I was initially worried that 4 weeks away may be too long but it went by quickly and he returned back home and seemlessly fit right back into our lives as a much more enjoyable family dog. We have used other trainers in the past and have had average results, but Christa’s method truly is transformative. Christa’s dedication, hardwork, and expertise are unmatched!

We adopted an 8 month old extra large breed puppy. It became pretty clear we thought we needed to seek professional training for him, given his size. We were impressed with Christa from our very first phone call. From her philosophy on training, to the support she was able to give us while we waited for our training, it was clear she was a match for what we were looking for. Koena k9 was the only board and train that was done from a home and not a facility, and the only one we found that the dog wasn’t sent home on weekends. These were two very important things our family was looking for. The communication was top notch from the start, even before our training started, and she did a great job throughout keeping us posted on our guy. At our half way visit we were absolutely blown away by the progress we saw in our dog. By our final visit/pickup, he was his same goofy self, but eager to follow the directions and commands he learned. A weight was lifted off my chest the second he came home. His training changed the entire dynamic of how he fit into our family and we were all able to understand each other more. Our lives with him have improved so much, and we are able to do things with him we never thought possible. His car manners, his off leash recall, his ability to go on walks and not lunge at everything we pass, all improved. None of this would be possible without the care and training he received from Koena k9. This training was an investment for our family, and it has already paid off tenfold. Highly recommend this service to anyone looking to live more harmoniously with their dog. Another major perk is the pack days she offers once they graduate the program. Our dog is able to socialize and go on adventures monthly. We also plan to board him with her in the future. Such a great experience.

We couldn’t recommend Christa with Koena K9 enough! We have four dogs. AKA “the Mafia Boys” (Capone, Gotti, Lucci, and Sal). Trusting someone with them is no small thing. From the moment we met her, we knew they were in amazing hands. She goes above and beyond with hikes, walks, playtime, and socialization, making sure they are not just cared for but truly happy and engaged. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and treats every dog like her own. I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a helicopter mom, so one of my favorite things is how active she is on Instagram. Being able to check in and see updates of our boys having the best time gives me so much peace of mind. If you’re looking for someone who will love your dogs as much as you do, KoenaK9 is it!

We were seriously considering re-homing our 7-month-old puppy… until we met Christa. At first, the thought of sending her to a 4-week board-and-train program seemed daunting, but we knew something had to change. To give you an idea of how far we’ve come: the last walk I took our puppy on before Christa’s training, she would jump up to bite my arm and drag me down the street. She was reactive to dogs, bikes, and cars. She would bite us and bark non-stop. Christa’s training was truly transformational. The first walk we took after her board and train, our puppy walked calmly behind us the entire time—completely non-reactive. She started playing with us instead of biting us. The difference was unbelievable. We were nervous about leaving our dog with someone else for a whole month, but the socialization was great and Christa posted many videos on social media, so we could see our puppy having fun and learning. We also had a midway training session where we got to see her in person and witness the progress she was making. We were also worried that training might dull her personality or take away her goofiness and sass. It didn’t at all! She’s still the same goofy, sassy, sweet little girl. She just now understands boundaries and has a lot more confidence. The best of both worlds!! When we first got our puppy, seeing other dogs off-leash on walks felt like a distant dream. Now, we enjoy daily off-leash runs at the park and let her go on pack hikes with Christa. My favorite feeling is witnessing her pure joy when she has a whole field to run around in and explore. I can’t imagine our evenings any other way, and now we get the next decade of off-leash adventures to look forward to. It’s so crazy to think how different our lives and her life would be had we not done this training with Christa. If you have a puppy—or a reactive, stubborn, or disobedient dog— we strongly recommend sending them to Christa. Nowadays, it’s extremely hard to find someone you can trust with your fur baby. People had stopped giving us recommendations because they couldn’t confidently recommend the trainers they saw. We can confidently recommend Christa.
