Kodiak K9 Training

Our dog, the occasionally impulsive, Ruby spent two weeks with Kodiak K9 Dog Training, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Before training, her biggest challenge was heeling — every walk felt like a workout. Now, she heels beautifully and consistently, no matter where we are or what’s going on around her. The trainers were incredible. They clearly care about the dogs and their owners, and their communication was fantastic. We received nearly daily pictures and updates, which made it so reassuring to see Ruby learning and having fun while she was away. When we picked her up, they took the time to walk us through everything she’d learned and how to keep reinforcing her progress. Ruby came home more confident, well-mannered, and genuinely happy. We’re so grateful to Kodiak K9 Dog Training — they completely transformed our walks and made training enjoyable for everyone. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about how highly we recommend Brad and Kodiak K9! We adopted a 2.5 year old black lab, Tucker, who was so sweet, but a little rough around the edges training wise and liked testing the boundaries because he was so smart and so high energy! We also had a baby on the way and needed a training spot sooner rather than later. Brad could not have been more accommodating and understanding taking him in for a 2 week board and train only 2 days after our initial conversation. He set very realistic expectations on what we could accomplish with training and was constantly in touch with updates, photos and videos - far beyond any expectation I had and way more than we received with our previous dogs training. He and his family treated Tucker as his own and I felt so confident that he was being so loved while not actively training and living with Brad’s family. Even living with his family served as “real daily life” training which made the biggest difference for us!! Tucker is an amazing dog, his recall and off leash walking is near perfect, and Brad continues to provide on going help and guidance on continuing to better his leash walking - Tucker is a stubborn boy and Brad warned us at the beginning that would be something requiring continual work. Training with Brad changed our enjoyment of Tucker and brought out the very best in him. He gave us all the tools to manage an incredibly high energy lab to the point where people don’t even realize how high energy he is as long as he gets his exercise. We would recommend Brad and Kodiak to anyone and had the most wonderful experience - forever grateful!!

We had a great experience with the training of our dog, Tiza! Megan, the trainer assigned by Kodiak K9, was wonderful. And even after the training period, she was really attentive and answered any questions left. Tiza had a few behaviors that required some correction. While walking, being the hound she is, she would pull on the leash or stop to sniff everything, making a walk a difficult task. Some of those pulls were because she bolted after squirrels, or other dogs, or cats, and in some situations both my wife and I had falls due to these pulls. Now she heels correctly, and we let her "free" to sniff, etc. when we have time to do it, so her walks will be enjoyable for both, the dog and the walker. She used to bark a lot to other dogs while in the car, or during the walks as well, and that is another behavior that was corrected. In the pictures you can see her sitting and waiting for command in a soccer field, waiting patiently in the vet's office, with other animals, including cats, around, and you can see in one of the pictures, the e-collar, used for the training. I truly recommend Kodiak K9, their trainers are experienced and the change was substantial. That said, she never lost her playfulness, but now we are able to let her know when she is allowed and when she is not.

We adopted a 5 yr old GSD with an unknown background. We'll just call her what she was - a bit rude! Sweet, but she definitely needed training. I found Kodiak k9 and talked to Brad. I felt good about their approaches and was set up with Micah. We agreed to do a 3 wk board and train since our girl is both a stubborn GSD and also well past puppy years. We had very realistic goals. We got regular videos, photos, and communication throughout. Micah was a great match and clearly loves what she does. She was amazing and worked wonders helping us get our pup to be more manageable!! Before Micah, even taking our pup out was a risk to our own safety and our dog's safety (she's a runner!). Now, we know she can follow commands and we're all safe!! Thank you to Micah and Kodiak k9 for helping us turn our untrained beasty in a dog we can enjoy having in our home for years to come!! I cannot thank Micah enough - the difference is night and day and I'm so grateful!!
