While we encourage honest reviews from actual clients, it’s important to clarify that you are neither being honest nor a client of ours. You scheduled a free evaluation on May 3, 2025. During that evaluation, your 3/4 month old Great Dane puppy was terrified to exit your vehicle and even more fearful entering the facility. This immediately indicated a severe lack of confidence and exposure. Once inside, your puppy hid behind you and repeatedly barked, lunged, growled and displayed fearful aggression anytime I moved or approached. I have 16 years of professional experience. Behaviors like this when ignored or mishandled can escalate into serious liabilities that unfortunately result in dogs being euthanized every year. Your puppy was displaying fear-based aggression at an extremely young age, and you did not appear concerned by this. I explained that your dog needed leadership, consistency, structure, boundaries, and confidence building exposure. You were quoted 8 sessions for $1,000 ($125 per lesson) for a behavioral case, which is more than fair. You agreed with the assessment. No payment was collected. You scheduled your first lesson for May 26, 2025. 23 days after the evaluation, allowing nearly three additional weeks of these behaviors to continue unchecked. At the next visit, the behaviors had significantly worsened. I asked you to place your puppy on a back-tie and step away so I could assess his behavior without you next to him. Despite stating you’d owned Great Danes your entire life, you expressed confusion about this one. When you moved approximately 20 feet away, your puppy panicked, barking, whining, and exhibiting extreme frustration and fear because he could not get out of his flat collar to run to you. When you attempted to rush back to “save” him, I explained that intervening during a stress response reinforces fear and separation anxiety. Dogs must learn to work through controlled stressors. There is no such thing as a purely positive, consequence free life for dogs or humans. You disagreed with this explanation. At that point, I clearly stated that our methods do not align and that we would NOT be doing business together. I have the right to refuse my services. You returned to your dog, no services were rendered, and you left with the half payment of your program, so no payment was ever taken from you. That was the end of our interaction. Four months later, you chose to leave this review. My first negative review ever in 16 years. I work with and rehabilitate hundreds of dogs every year with serious behavioral issues. I’ve saved so many lives due to behaviors like your puppy was exhibiting. To come here and insinuate "psychological abuse" toward dogs I dedicate my life to protecting is reckless and false. Ironically, I am familiar with the veterinarian you saw who also expressed the same concerns and also discontinued working with you due to your dog’s aggressive behavior & your lack of acknowledging it. We wish you the best moving forward. However, false accusations and misrepresentation of events will not be tolerated.
