King K9 Academy

We brought our dog Cider to King K9 Academy to meet Josh for a training consultation. We very quickly realized that Josh was the trainer that we wanted to work with, he really understood our problem areas and developed a plan to help Cider and help us as dog owners reach our goals. Over the course of 4 weeks we worked with Josh on obedience training as well as real world training with real life distractions to challenge and reinforce our work with Cider. The end result is nothing short of amazing. We now have a dog that is much more confident, focused, and non-reactive and we as dog owners have gained confidence and a variety of new training skills. This was a fun experience and we would not hesitate to work with King K9 Academy again. Thanks for your help Josh, you really are great at what you do!

Joshua has been a tremendous teacher and asset for my partner and I as we continue our journey of raising our nearly 2-year-old dog, Wade. As first time owners of this particular hunting breed, we needed someone who could show us the ropes in a way that wasn't just talking at us, but teaching and working with us so that our efforts can continue well beyond this time together. The change we've seen in our dog's behavior in just five weeks has been nothing short of extraordinary and we could not be more grateful to Joshua for all that it took to get our whole family to this point. As my mom said when she saw Wade again after four weeks of training – "I'm telling everyone I know to send their dogs to Richmond, Maine! My granddog has become the perfect dog!" Thanks, Joshua!

May 21, 2021 Finding Joshua Antell and King K9 Academy saved my dog Molly and my relationship. I had developed Bad habits and had lost my job as leader of our pack. When Molly left and stayed with Joshua for three weeks, Molly was transformed into an attentive, willing dog who loved responding to simple commands. At the sametime Molly was training I was assigned reading to learn and understand dogs, and myself. After three weeks Molly and I trained together with Joshua and with his gentle guidance we became a team, and I have become our pack leader. I just had to post a review for King K9 Academy and for Joshua. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with him as he helped us train our 9 month old lab. Joshua is extremely knowledgable and took a great deal of time talking to us about our puppy Lager, what we had experienced with him so far and what we were hoping to get out of training. After that Joshua created a plan just for us and we could not be happier with the results. Prior to this training Lager would not listen, would pull on his leash every time we went for a walk, he would sometimes take off after other dogs and in general would only listen when he felt like it. We knew this was dangerous behavior and needed to do something about it so we contacted Joshua. As a result of the e-collar obedience training Lager now walks on a leash without pulling , EVEN when we walk by other dogs , his recall is excellent, again ,even when sniffing or playing with other dogs. He also understands when to go to "bed" , his crate, or to "place" when we need him quiet and in one place. And this is a 9 month old puppy ! We are just thrilled and know that this training is going to make for a lifetime of safe, fun and relaxing experiences for us and for Lager. Many thanks to Joshua for his knowledge, expertise, professionalism and his love of dogs which was apparent each and every time we got together to train.

After two months of off leash obedience and reactivity training with Joshua, Gus is a more confident and happy dog! His transformation is remarkable! Two months ago Gus was very reactive towards dogs and he would lunge at moving cars. Our daily outings were always highly charged, because Gus didn’t have the skill set to make better decisions. Now, Gus is a more confident and happy dog! He walks with a spring in his step and is able to stay calm while being in the presence of other dogs and instead of lunging at cars, Gus chooses to stay close to me while maintaining eye contact. I cannot say enough about Joshua’s private training program. He is patient, knowledgeable and experienced. What we learned from Joshua is priceless and we will be forever grateful. Sent from my iPhone
