Kindred K9 Academy

Andy did an amazing job with our dog Bella. She is about a year and a half old and has always been a happy, high-energy dog who gets distracted easily. We weren’t looking to change her personality, we just wanted to improve her behavior and to be calmer in certain situations. After her board and train with Andy, that’s exactly what we got. She’s way more responsive to commands and calmer when she needs to be. Walks are much easier, especially around other dogs, and she’s still the same happy pup. Still full of energy and playful but responsive and will settle when we ask her to. She came home healthy, happy, and excited to see us. Highly recommend.

We found Kindred K9 Academy through Camp Opie. We had recently moved across country and needed to find a boarding place for our pup Ruby, German Pinscher (think Doberman but half the size). We learned that Kindred works with Camp Opie and we took advantage of a two week boarding stay to have her train with Andy. Andy is simply the best! He truly cares about your pup and sends you updates throughout the day and training process. It’s a dialogue, he has an incredible ability to explain what he is doing with your pup and why. The lightbulb just goes off and it makes perfect sense which helps greatly when it’s your turn to be the trainer, because the training doesn’t stop when you have your dog with you, you have to reinforce it. Andy has continued to be a valuable resource for us! He’s always available for questions and will check in on your pup while they’re boarding. I just recently told him about how much Ruby hates getting her nails done and just a couple days later he’s sending me video of Ruby laying in his lap as he clips her nails! It was amazing and our minds were blown! Highly recommend Andy and Kindred K9 Academy!

Kindred K9 Academy is great! My dog is a lab/labradoodle mix and seems to have more poodle brain than lab chill. She needs constant reminders. At 6 six years old, she even learned a new trick. After working with Andy, she finally responded to lay down. She’s much nicer to be around and understands who is in charge of her life. I highly recommend them to teach your dog manners. It ‘ll make everyone’s life better.
