With more than 30 years of business in West Michigan, Kim's K-9 is a fun and friendly center for dog boarding, training and doggie daycare. Founders Kim, expert trainer, and husband Brian Steffes opened the current Center in Kentwood, Michigan in March 1996. Lifelong residents of the Grand Rapids area and avid dog lovers, Kim and Brian have created lasting relationships with clients and their wonderful pets. Kim and Brian sold the business to their long-standing employee and friend, Martha Wiltse, in 2021. She carries on their values!
The facility offers a safe and clean environment with multiple indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as flexible hours and a convenient location, just off of Broadmoor Ave. SE, near 28th St.

Our dog, Archie, just completed the 3 week day training program at Kim's K-9. Sam was our trainer. I can't say enough about the entire staff - caring, great communication and everything went as planned. I was a little nervous dropping him off the first day, but saw quickly how well he was adjusting and learning. After day #4, he was walking with Sam loose leash like a pro. We were impressed as Archie was terrible on the leash - pulling, criss crossing etc. The handouts are very helpful as are the videos. I know we will refer to both often. Thank you Kim's K-9... we feel like we have a "new" dog!

Sam did a great job working with Luna, we saw improvements in her within the second. We have good tools to continue to work with her and are happy to know we have the chance to continue to work with a trainer as we need it.

Just brought our dog in for the first time this week! She had a great time and their communication was above and beyond! I really appreciated that. We are looking forward to our dog spending more time there!

Kim’sK9, Love this place. I’m not sure how they do it, I wish I did, but dogs automatically put their best paws forward while they are here. I trust their knowledge and advice on anything dogs!
