We adopted a Yorkie about a year ago. We have adopted several pets and have never struggled with behavior or training, BUT this time it was different. Fiona, our Yorkie, was very high maintenance and demanding. She turned our lives upside down and exhibited a lot of behaviors that changed our day to day routine. After way too long, we reached out to Ali. She came for our initial consultation and immediately gave us tools to begin to in her words “elevate” ourselves. After that first consultation, we began to see a change in how we managed Fiona’s behaviors. We continued with 6 additional lessons and each week she could see the progress in Fiona and we could too! I wish I could say it was a magic fix and Fiona is perfectly trained after 6 weeks, but she isn’t NOT because Ali is effective in her methods, but because I have to be responsible for following through and CONTINUING the tools and skills Ali taught me. Training is hard work. It is about consistency and frequency. I still at least 3 times a week take 5-10 minutes and work on the skills Ali gave me with Fiona. Fiona is a work in progress as we all are, but without Ali’s expertise we would not have the ability to have a sense of normalcy back in our home. I am so grateful we choose to work with Ali and enjoyed every session with her. I remember during the consultation she told me that eventually Fiona will sit and stay when you put her food bowl down and I have to say...I doubted her...but I should not have. Fiona successfully does this every meal and looks to us for her cues instead of ruling the house as she once was. I highly recommend Ali. Her methods work well, but only if you, the owner, are willing to put in the work.
