Kentucky Canine Coach LLC

This is long overdue. Ahmia's been working with us for several months - for most of my dog's life in fact. We began foundation training with her, and just completed our CGC. Ahmia is so very patient, particularly with owners that just aren't quite getting it lol - and with their dog's too. Never having owned a protective / reactive dog, I was at a loss handling my Swissy. This is why I turned to Ahmia initially. She was able to successfully instruct us (mostly me) using many different methods and tools, to the degree that we were able to pass the CGC. If you're a novice - or if you lack experience with a particular breed, type, or temperament - I would absolutely and without reservations recommend Ahmia - she's the best.

I can't say enough good things about Ahmia Black, Bryce Black, and their business, Kentucky Canine Coach. After some extensive research, I decided to take my 5-month-old Rottweiler to them to learn some basic manners and some advanced obedience. I’m not easily impressed… but after a week with Ahmia and Bryce, Dobro had the foundation he needed to grow into a well-behaved, obedient dog! KCC exceeded my expectations and then some. The folks at Kentucky Canine Coach know dogs. They have experience with all breeds and ages, and have worked extensively with dogs across the spectrum… from shelter dogs and family pets through competition and protection dogs. As a canine behaviorist, Ahmia understands the “why’s” of dog behavior… good or bad. She also knows how to either encourage or modify behavior using a fear-free, positive and balanced approach, which I appreciated. Ahmia and Bryce are very professional. Communication was impeccable and they went out of their way to answer my most basic questions. I’m considering my pup for some advanced training and possibly even competition. I won’t consider anyone but the folks at Kentucky Canine Coach to work with my dog. I recommend Ahmia, Bryce and KCC to any and all dog owners in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area, without hesitation. You will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for someone to help you with training your dog, then Ahmia would be an excellent choice. I was a volunteer at the Humane Society when she was the Behavior Coordinator there for about 18 months. What I respect most about Ahmia is that although she knows so much about training theory and has developed all the skills needed, she never stops learning and practicing. When you are a trainer at a shelter you work with all breeds of dogs; young and old, big and small, smart and challenged and you also work with a wide variety of people who want to help those dogs. Ahmia is very good at explaining things in a clear and sensible way that is easy to understand. She can demonstrate how to achieve your goals and more importantly, train YOU on how to work with your dog and get the same results. Through patience, consistency and positive reinforcement, Ahmia’s instruction will strengthen the bond between you and your dog and show you how to create a safe and happy relationship. I have seen her achieve amazing results many times and I am confident that she can do the same for you. -- Karl S.
