Jennifer thank you for taking the time to review Izzy’s Puppy Start Right without Potty Training Board and Train. I’m sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your puppy’s results.<br><br>As a trainer my job is to assess each dog’s individual needs. Our Puppy Start Right Training plan includes Environmental Socialization, Impulse control, sit, down, go to place, go to kennel, and foundational loose leash walking. In regard to where Izzy slept at night because, you opted out of the potty-training program, and in consideration of Izzy’s potty-training needs (indoor/outdoor access throughout the night), she was moved to the training facility to expedite the potty-training process that I provided without charge. This situation is an example of how the training plan needed to be tailored to meet Izzy’s needs.<br><br>I agree that Izzy is very trainable due to the confidence building that our team instilled in her. The first two weeks of your puppy’s time in our care was building confidence in her surroundings and being able to be handled and worked with by my trainers. When she arrived, she was cowering and fearful in the back of the kennel and would not come out. When someone would reach for her, she would cry out and bite at the hand. We discussed how this could have invertedly happened at home and how you could improve it going forward.<br>Confidence building is an absolutely critical foundational step in progressing to all of the basic obedience tasks you hired us to teach. Without confidence and feeling safe, she could not advance in obedience.<br><br>Because she needed behavioral help and we wanted to do right by Izzy and your family, we provided 2 weeks of confidence building for free. When Izzy left my facility at the end of the 6 weeks stay and at 4 months old, she could complete basic tasks for her age level of impulse control, sit, down, go to bed, go to kennel, and puppy level loose leash walking.<br><br>Dog training is not a “one size fits all” industry and we stand by the foundational work that we accomplished with Izzy while she was here. We still need to complete our in-home sessions, to reenforce the behaviors Izzy learned. My desire is for Izzy, you, and your family to be successful. I was proud of how much we were able to build her confidence and trust in people while in our care.
