Kat the Dog Lady

If I could give Kat 10 stars I would. I have a 2 year old poodle/schnauzer mix who has very bad leash reactivity and started resource guarding. He bit two family members and I was at my wits end. I didn’t know how to help him and he was getting progressively worse. I put out a desperate plea on Nextdoor for a trainer and Kat replied. When she arrived he immediately began to lunge at her and nip at the back of her leg. She was expecting it by his reaction to someone at the door. She assessed him and I and showed us some training exercises on how to give him corrections and reward him when he takes the correction. After just one lesson I had the tools and the confidence to work him through it. Walks have been a pleasure, no more lunging and barking at everyone and everything. Now we go for long walks and hikes in the park with ease. I can’t believe the drastic improvement in such a short amount of time. He’s even letting me groom him and brush him without freaking out. He’s going in a kennel during the day for the first time and he gets in it easily. He barks and cries on and off while I’m there but he’s only spent a very short amount of time in it. I’m sure he’ll settle down in the crate eventually. Kat is wonderfully patient and very knowledgeable. We’ve had two training sessions and I have a different dog. If you have a crazy dog that you need help with I highly recommend Kat! If she can calm my little beast then she can help anyone.
